Snapped some pics during our walk this evening: This is Cinquefoil from the rose family.
People have used this plant for the tannic acids that is found in its roots, to treat different kinds of conditions and disinfect wounds. The starchy root tastes like parsnip and can be used as food, while its leaves are valued as a healthful tea.

My husband and children are allergic to mosquitoe bites. This evening I'm making up some more allergy balm that relieves the itch and swelling when applied directly.
The balm also helps with breathing symptoms when applied under the nose.
