Minerals are like the “spark plugs” in our body, they are co-factors for just about every metabolic process in the body. They are essential for our bones and teeth, energy production, nerve and muscle function, pH balance, blood sugar balance, immune function, hormone balance and so on. The body cannot make its own minerals - we need to get them from foods, drinks and supplements.

Often times you may be getting enough minerals, but your body isn’t using them correctly or you are burning through them due to stress. Stress of any kind causes a massive mineral burn especially magnesium. For example, magnesium keeps calcium in solution where your body can shuttle the calcium where it needs to be, like your bones. When calcium is not in solution, it can be deposited in your joints, in your tissues and can form what we call a “Calcium Shell” in HTMA terms. Calcium will wall off access to cells affecting hormone uptake and other dysregulation. Something we really don’t want. There are a hundred other examples like this that portray mineral synergies and antagonists.
