Shoulder pain 😖
The thing about pain; it can sometimes get worse before it gets better.

As someone that likes to do what I can to help relieve pain, it’s hard when the pain worsens post treatment. Thankfully, my patient knows it’s important to stick with their treatments, as this can be a normal and sometimes expected response. But man oh man it still sucks, especially for my patient.

Do you journal? I like to think of journaling as ‘cheap therapy’. Pen to paper can be a powerful tool in releasing repetitive and intrusive thoughts. It can help you sleep better, have mental clarity and improved focus.

I typically hit the dollar store to get mine, like this one. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just has be done.

Pro tip * journal by a window, helps with reflection and releasing any negative energy that we may be holding on to.

I turned 46 this year and admittedly, aging has sometimes been a challenge for me to embrace. I've never been one to spend time in the mirror or focus on things I have no control over, but this aging thing has been tricky. After all, in my head I'm still 34?!

Yes, I'm very grateful to be alive and to have my health, 100%. I noticed my body changing a couple of years ago and I'm like well, you have your health and got busy back at the gym and work with what the good Lord gave me. But watching my eyes change, jowls suddenly appear, neck wrinkles come out of nowhere... like wtf neck wrinkles?! Yup, in many different directions too.

So back to the books I went, took some amazing courses to see if acupuncture can help smooth this transition and bamm, found cosmetic acupuncture. Got certified as a cosmetic acupuncturist and the only thing this girl is looking back at is saying goodbye to those damn neck wrinkles. ✌️

Along with my weekly cosmetic acupuncture treatments, good skin care, I incorporate Gua Sha pretty much as a daily routine. I've noticed that my eyes have lifted, little to no jowls and bubye neck wrinkles. Along with brighter and tighter overall skin brightness, like I maybe have a little glow up going on ❤️

Cosmetic acupuncture for the win.

Did you know that acupuncture can increase oxygen levels through microcirculation which aids in detoxification and help prevent facial puffiness!!

And I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the puffier my eyes are! So I not only treat patients, I do this on myself at least once a week!

I love to incorporate infrared LED and Gua sha facial as a part of treatment regime and the benefits and results are amazing!

Fire cupping. For those that don’t know, it’s amazing 🤩

The top benefits to fire cupping are to help relieve pain by creating an effect similar to deep tissue massage, with pull from the suction instead of push. Helps in reducing inflammation by increasing circulation and blood blow to affected area. Helps with migraine relief by reducing tension and pressure in the neck and upper back. And my personal fav, helps to reduce excess heat in the body 🔥🙌

I practice with traditional fire cupping, with both stationary cups and sliding cups as well as bleeding cupping.
