🚨🐾Emergency Evacuation Tips for Your Pet 🐾🚨
If an emergency happens, your furry family members need to come too! Here's how to make sure you can get them our safely and quickly:
✅Bring outdoor cats inside 🐈 - If you know an evacuation could happen soon (wildfire, flood, storm), bring outdoor cats inside early so you don't have to search for them in an emergency. This also prevents them from running away in panic when things get hectic.
✅Have carriers ready by the door 🛅 - If your pet isn't used to their carrier, try leaving it out ahead of time with a blanket or treat inside so it feels safe and familiar if you need to use it.
✅ Have your pet's medications ready to grab 💊 - Store all medications in 1 waterproof container or bag. Label them clearly with your pet's name, dosage, and instructions so there's no confusion in a stressful moment.
✅ Make a short list of essential items to grab at the last minute 📝- Write down the must-haves for your pet (favorite toy, food bowl, vet records, blanket) and keep it taped near the door. In high-stress moments, a checklist ensures you don't forget anything important.
✅Pack some pet food & water 💧 - Have at least 3 days worth of food in a sealed bag or container, plus bottled water just for your pet.
⚠Emergencies are stressful, but being prepared keeps everyone safe - two-legged and four-legged alike. ❤
