💞January 6th is National Cuddle Day! 💞

Cuddle time isn't just for bonding - it's also a perfect opportunity to check in on your pet's body condition!

While snuggling, take note of:
✔Can you feel their ribs easily without pressing hard?
✔Do they have a visible waist when viewed from above?
✔Have you noticed any new lumps, bumps, or changes?

Weight changes often happen gradually and can be easy to miss. If you're noticing a little extra padding, January is a great time to talk to us about safe weight management and nutrition options tailored to your pet's age and lifestyle! 🐾

Leave a picture or comment below showing you and your furry companion taking advantage of national cuddle day! 👇

🎉New Year, Healthy Habits! 🐾

A new year is a great time to reset routines - and that includes your pets! Maintaining a healthy weight plays a huge role in your pet's overall health and longevity.

Helpful New Years reminders:
✔ Measure meals instead of free-pouring
✔ Stick to a consistent feeding schedule
✔ Be mindful of treats (they should make up less then 10% of daily calories)
✔ Keep pets moving, even with shorter indoor or winter-friendly activities.

If you're unsure of what a healthy weight looks like for your pet, we're happy to help with weight checks, body condition scoring, and nutrition guidance to start 2026 off strong! 🐶🐱

❄ The First Day of Winter is Here! ❄

Winter has officially arrived, and with the colder temperatures come some important risks for our pets. 🐾 Please keep these winter safety tips in mind:

🩺 Hypothermia & Frostbite - Limit time outdoors in extreme cold - especially in senior pets, puppies/kittens, and short-haired or small breeds
🦴 Arthritis Flare-Ups - Cold weather can worsen joint pain and stiffness in pets with arthritis
♥ Cardiac & Respiratory - Pets with heart or respiratory disease may struggle more in cold air
🐾 Paw & Skin Injuries - Ice, snow, and de-icing products can cause cracks, chemical burns, and infections
☠ Toxin Exposure - Antifreeze & ice melts can be highly toxic, even in small amounts
🚑Cold-Related Illness - Prolonged exposure can lead to lethargy, weakness, and decreased appetite.

If your pet has a pre-existing medical condition or you notice any changes in mobility, breathing, or energy levels, please contact us. Early intervention can make a big difference.

Stay warm and keep those paws protected this winter! 🐾❄
