🚨🐾Emergency Evacuation Tips for Your Pet 🐾🚨

If an emergency happens, your furry family members need to come too! Here's how to make sure you can get them our safely and quickly:

✅Bring outdoor cats inside 🐈 - If you know an evacuation could happen soon (wildfire, flood, storm), bring outdoor cats inside early so you don't have to search for them in an emergency. This also prevents them from running away in panic when things get hectic.

✅Have carriers ready by the door 🛅 - If your pet isn't used to their carrier, try leaving it out ahead of time with a blanket or treat inside so it feels safe and familiar if you need to use it.

✅ Have your pet's medications ready to grab 💊 - Store all medications in 1 waterproof container or bag. Label them clearly with your pet's name, dosage, and instructions so there's no confusion in a stressful moment.

✅ Make a short list of essential items to grab at the last minute 📝- Write down the must-haves for your pet (favorite toy, food bowl, vet records, blanket) and keep it taped near the door. In high-stress moments, a checklist ensures you don't forget anything important.

✅Pack some pet food & water 💧 - Have at least 3 days worth of food in a sealed bag or container, plus bottled water just for your pet.

⚠Emergencies are stressful, but being prepared keeps everyone safe - two-legged and four-legged alike. ❤

🎆 Natal Day Fireworks Safety Reminder🐾

As we get ready to celebrate Natal Day, we want to remind everyone that while fireworks can be fun for us, they can be incredibly stressful—and even frightening—for our pets.

Here are a few tips to help keep your furry friends safe and calm:
💥Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays
💥Play calming music or white noise to mask the sound
💥Ensure windows and doors are securely closed
💥Provide a safe, quiet space where they can hide and feel secure
💥Keep your pet’s ID and microchip information up to date, just in case

🐶🐱Let’s make sure the holiday is enjoyable—and safe—for all members of the family ❤️!

🐱🐶Is Your Pet at a Healthy Weight? Let's Talk Feeding Guidelines! 🥣📏

Feeding your dog or cat the right amount of food is one of the best ways to support their long-term health 💜

🦴General Feeding Tips:
✔️Always follow the feeding guide on your pet food label - but remember, it's just a starting point!
✔️Measure meals with a proper measuring cup, not by eye or scooping.
✔️Treats should make up no more than 10% of your pet's daily calories.
✔️Regular exercise and mental stimulation are just as important!

⚖️What Counts as Overweight?
In veterinary medicine, a pet is considered overweight if they are 10% or more above their ideal body weight - and obese if they are 20% or more. That might not sound like much, but for a small dog or cat, just a few extra pounds can make a BIG difference to their health.

🔍Watch for signs like:
➡️NO clear waistline
➡️Difficulty feeling ribs
➡️Tiring easily during activity

If you're unsure about your pet's body condition or how much to feed them, we're here to help! Ask us about recommended nutrition plans during your next visit. 🐾💬
