Canadian Women Physicians Day (CWPD) is a time to celebrate our fellow female physicians. It is also an opportunity to give back to the community! This year, the Canadian Women in Medicine (CWIM) organization has partnered with Women’s Shelters Canada for a special CWPD fundraiser. This is our first year of launching a fundraiser as part of CWPD celebrations and we are so excited to use this platform to support such a worthy cause. Together, we can accomplish great things!

Women’s Shelters Canada provides a strong, unified voice on the issue of violence against women. Their shelters support women and children who are fleeing violence.

March 11 was chosen to honour Dr. Jennie Trout, the first woman licensed to practice medicine in Canada.
