At Chartwell Rosemont Les Quartiers in Montréal, QC, residents enjoyed a summer filled with events that brought cultures from around the world to life. From Brazil to the Maghreb, and from Italy to Japan, each gathering highlighted cultural richness and strengthened the sense of community.

🧡 On September 30, Chartwell residences across Canada honoured the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with reflection, creativity, and care.

One of the most meaningful moments took place at Chartwell Whispering Pines, where Kim, a friend of the residence and member of the Ojibway community, led residents and staff in a traditional smudging ceremony. Her guidance reflected the same spirit of remembrance and hope shared across our residences.
At Chartwell Fountains of Mission, residents celebrated Rose, whose life story embodies resilience and strength. Meanwhile, residents of Chartwell Martha’s Landing joined a community gathering filled with songs, stories, and powerful speeches from Indigenous voices. In Okotoks, those at Chartwell Royal Park learned about the Blackfoot story of the Big Rock, deepening their connection to the land and its history. Over at Chartwell L’Unique, an educational quiz and documentary screening inspired thoughtful conversations on truth, understanding, and reconciliation.

Every meaningful activity echoed one important message: Every Child Matters.

🧡 Le 30 septembre, les rĂ©sidences Chartwell Ă  travers le Canada ont soulignĂ© la JournĂ©e nationale de la vĂ©ritĂ© et de la rĂ©conciliation dans un esprit de rĂ©flexion, de crĂ©ativitĂ© et de bienveillance.

L’un des moments les plus marquants a eu lieu au Chartwell Whispering Pines, oĂč Kim, membre de la communautĂ© ojibwĂ©e, a dirigĂ© une cĂ©rĂ©monie de purification traditionnelle. Sa prĂ©sence reflĂ©tait le mĂȘme esprit de souvenir et d’espoir partagĂ© dans l’ensemble de nos rĂ©sidences.
À Chartwell Fountains of Mission, les rĂ©sidents ont rendu hommage Ă  Rose, dont le parcours de vie incarne la rĂ©silience et la force. October 1st was 'National Seniors Day,' a day devoted to celebrating our wonderful Chartwell Tiffin residents and their great accomplishments! Residents gathered to reminisce, enjoy a trip down memory lane, hear stories of famous seniors, tips on aging well and finished off with a wine and cheese social. A carefully curated selection of cheese and crackers were accompanied by dried figs and grapes and Canadian wine. To all the residents at Chartwell Tiffin, thank you for all you do and for making our residence a home.

National Day For Truth And Reconciliation: Chartwell Tiffin staff wore orange shirts as a symbol of pride, solidarity and remembrance to mark this important day. Joining in for a range of programs, residents participated in creative painting and sketching, while also traveling to Saint- Marie Among the Hurons for a day of remembrance and reflection. Highlights included an indigenous drumming ceremony, guest speakers, tours and a traditional Indigenous Smudge ceremony.

The BBQ, scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, promises to be a fantastic event. National Toasted Marshmallow Day: our residents enjoyed a sweet treat as they played marshmallow toss on this National fun day!

Summer Fun & Flavours: As we wrapped up the month of August, we squeezed in a final round of tasty treats by hosting Sunday Ice Cream Sundae! We pulled out all the stops (and toppings) by serving up these tasty treats in waffle bowls, topped with crushed peanuts, choice of sundae sauce, sprinkles and whipped cream!

"Butterfly Kisses": Chartwell Tiffin Retirement recently hosted an educational series on butterflies followed by a butterfly release party! Residents learned about inception, life, the migration process, and other fun facts before having the opportunity to hold a butterfly!
