Happy International Pilates Day!
Pilates has been part of my life for 39 years! In one application or another it is a sustainable and intentional way to train and move the body regardless of your fitness level or realm of capabilities. I have seen individuals through spinal fusion, pregnancy, muscle tears and mental health crisis using its methodology. I have navigated my own seasons of life inside its programming as well. Leading barre classes, mat classes or reformer/exo chair classes is so incredibly fulfilling and I never get bored in my own workouts either. And yes weights are a component as well as spring tension so the challenge is real!!
