👀 February is Low Vision Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the experiences of individuals with visual impairments, including those with intellectual disabilities. At CLM, we believe everyone deserves the tools and support to live life fully, whether that’s through vision rehabilitation services, assistive technologies, or simply creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all.

Let’s continue to break down barriers and ensure everyone can engage, participate, and thrive in our community. 💙

📣 Join us in spreading awareness and making accessibility a priority, every small action counts!

💖 This week, we’re raising awareness for Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week! From February 7–14, we recognize the 1 in 100 babies born with CHDs and the unique challenges faced by individuals with both congenital heart defects and intellectual disabilities. 💙

The relationship between CHDs and intellectual disabilities is complex, some individuals may experience cognitive differences, while others face emotional challenges. The American Heart Association emphasizes the importance of early detection, monitoring, and tailored support to help these individuals thrive. This includes advances in detecting heart defects before birth, supporting brain development, and addressing barriers to neurodevelopmental care.

📢 Let’s come together as a community to share knowledge, support families, and advocate for early intervention and better outcomes. Every voice helps make a difference!

Our communities are stronger because of the people who step up to lead, not for recognition, but because they believe everyone deserves to belong.

As part of Community Living Ontario’s Board Appreciation campaign, we’re proud to recognize the volunteer Boards of Directors across the Developmental Services sector. These dedicated leaders serve without pay, guided by values of inclusion, responsibility, and community connection.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to our Board of Directors for your time, passion, and commitment. Help us spread the appreciation by liking, sharing, or leaving a thank-you message below!
