Minden Animal Hospital

Minden Animal Hospital Minden Animal Hospital is the place to go for friendly & caring service for you and your furry family

At the Minden Animal hospital, it is clear we’re all animal lovers with 40+ pets between us. Each staff member is dedicated to making your pets’ visit to the hospital as anxiety free as possible. This may explain why so many of our clients tell us that their dogs happily run to the door of the hospital, and pull their owners down the hall to our exam rooms for their weigh in and examination. We tr

eat them like our own animals and want their visit with us to be stress free and fun even if they are having procedures they do not want. At the Minden Animal Hospital you will find proactive wellness exams to prevent many health crises, acting on small problems before they become big ones. Instead of treating symptoms, the cause of the problem is addressed and your animals get better in far less time. Education on preventive measures to keep pets healthy or to catch problems early on, helps your pets live longer and healthier lives. This full service clinic offers internal medicine; surgery, dentistry, radiology, in- house diagnostics, comfort priority protocols including therapeutic laser treatments, pharmacy on site, alternative medicine, house calls, specialist referrals (or they travel to our hospital) and second mile service, with a smile, every time you come in. Because sometimes illness in our pets happens at an inopportune time and financing some treatment plans can be tough, we offer payment plans and credit care for our clients. Call us today to book an appointment so we can meet you and your pet!

Happy June!

Pebbles is our June Pet of the Month for Solensia! 🐾💉

This 19-year-old independent lady has been receiving Solensia injections for over 2 years now and trust us… it keeps her ✨spicy ✨. Age may just be a number, but Pebbles personally believes violence is also a love language.

While we totally believe Pebbles is a sweetheart at home (that runs the house) the second she enters the building, it becomes a full-contact sport. We bring out the fancy cat gloves, a party hat for emotional support, and at least 3 staff members trying to negotiate a peace treaty — all for ONE injection. Pebbles fights like she pays taxes and has something to lose. 💀

And honestly? We respect it.

Her mum Gail is one of the most dedicated cat owners out there and would do absolutely anything for her cats… including calmly enjoying a coffee in the lobby once a month ( which she also enjoys doing without an appointment 😉) while we wrestle Pebbles like a tiny angry raccoon in the treatment room. ☕🐾 No seriously, the entire clinic can hear her screaming cause we dared to open her kennel.

While Pebbles may absolutely despise every single one of us, we adore seeing her each month (from a safe distance).

Here’s to 19 years of sass, survival, and staying spicy, Pebbles. Never change. 👑🩷

Navy was in recently for her recheck exam after finishing her ear medication and we are happy to report… her ears are officially infection free 🎉👏

This sweet 6-year-old Goldendoodle may honestly have one of the cutest faces we’ve ever seen. We tried VERY hard to convince Facebook to let us upload the adorable video of her showing off her tricks, but apparently Facebook isn’t ready for that level of talent yet 😤🐾

Instead, Navy blessed us with some adorable photos and demonstrated her impressive list of tricks in person — which of course earned her unlimited compliments and approximately 47 “good girl”s from staff.

Cute, talented, and healthy? Navy is really out here doing it all 💙

Local celebrity sighting: Daisy has entered the building 🐾✨

You may recognize this 3-year-old Bouvier mix from her frequent downtown patrols — usually seen speed-walking in stylish snow pants all winter or supervising the sidewalks all summer long. Honestly, she’s more consistent than most people’s morning coffee routine. ☕️

Daisy visits us regularly for her monthly nail trims, because even tiny town icons need a manicure 💅 She’s sweet, fluffy, dramatic about absolutely nothing, and somehow manages to get every staff member to stop working the second she walks through the door.

We would trust Daisy with the keys to the clinic, honestly. 😇👏

Sweet little Millie visited us for her puppy appointment after recently finding her furever family 🐾🥰

At just 12 weeks old, Millie wasn’t totally sure what was happening during her visit, but she listened very carefully and took quiet little naps in between her vaccines… because those were a bit of a surprise 🥹

This brave girl received her second puppy booster and started her Bordetella, Lyme, and Leptospirosis vaccines. She also went home with her heartworm, flea & tick prevention, dewormer, and even stopped by the treatment room for a nail trim and mini photoshoot 📸

She still seemed very confused about why everyone was looking at her the whole time, but she handled it like a champ 😇

We hope she enjoyed her nap after a big day of growing up! 😴

We can’t wait to see Millie back in a month for her final puppy vaccines and to watch this sweet girl grow. ☺️🐾

Tiny paws, puppy eyes, and not a single care in the world 🐾💛

11 week old Noodle was in last week for her second round of puppy vaccines, dewormer, flea & tick prevention, and to get all signed up on our puppy wellness plan! 🌟

Noodle was the sweetest little visitor — completely relaxed, happy to lounge with absolutely anyone, and seemingly unaware she was even at a doctor’s appointment😇 She just happily went with the flow, soaked up the attention, and made herself right at home.

We can’t wait to watch this adorable little girl grow up 🥹🥰

Nemo the 12-year-old Siberian Husky had a very big day with us yesterday after Mom rushed him in feeling extremely sick 🤢💙

This brave boy put up with bloodwork, an ultrasound (which he was definitely not impressed about 😅), induced vomiting, a VERY messy charcoal “snack,” subcutaneous fluids, a nap on the treatment room floor, and a whole pharmacy of meds to take home. 💊

The best part? We got the sweetest picture and update from mom this morning, Nemo is feeling SO much better — and apparently thinks his medications are just special treats made for him 😇🍪

We’re so proud of you, Nemo. That happy face is why we do what we do-even if you did leave a trail of charcoal and fur behind you. 💙✨

Bailey the 4-year-old Persian came in for her annual wellness exam and clearly decided she was also hired as our clinic supervisor for the day 😼😜
She got fully updated on vaccines, had her wellness bloodwork and f***l sent out (because even royalty does routine check-ins), and left armed with her flea & tick prevention like the responsible little queen she is. 👑
She was incredibly brave… and extremely curious. So curious, in fact, that getting a photo of her was basically a group effort and a test of everyone’s patience 🥹📸
10/10 personality. 10/10 fluff. 0/10 interest in sitting still.

🐾Pet Arthritis Awareness Month 🐾
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic, progressive joint disease and one of the leading causes of pain in pets—yet it often goes underdiagnosed, especially in cats.

🔑Key Facts:
• 1 in 5 dogs are affected by osteoarthritis
• Studies suggest up to 90% of cats over age 12 show radiographic signs of arthritis
• Arthritis can begin as early as 1 year of age following injury or joint abnormalities
• It is a degenerative condition, meaning it worsens over time without management
• Excess body weight is one of the most significant risk factors for developing OA
• Arthritis pain is often subtle and gradual, making it easy to miss early stages
• OA affects not just joints, but can also impact a pet’s overall activity, behaviour, and wellbeing

📣Why Awareness Matters:
Because signs are often mistaken for “normal aging,” many pets live with untreated discomfort. Increased awareness leads to earlier diagnosis and better long-term outcomes.
