*words with an asterisk contain the letter “Q”. This letter makes a guttural sound. It is difficult to find the English words that can make this sound. The sound it makes is like the ending of the German word “Bach”.
**words using a “g” in the pronunciation guide makes the “g” sound in the English word gum.

🩺 What Is a Nurse Practitioner? | Qu’est-ce qu’une infirmière praticienne? 🩺

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are autonomous, licensed health professionals who provide comprehensive, evidence-based care across the lifespan.

Here in New Brunswick, all NPs complete a Master’s degree, and some also hold a Doctorate.

NPs work in diverse settings — from hospitals and family practice clinics to community health centres, long-term care, addiction services, and mental health care. They assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely, person-centered care. 💙

NPs are essential to strengthening our healthcare system and ensuring New Brunswickers receive the care they deserve.

Les infirmières praticiennes (IP) sont des professionnelles de la santé autonomes et autorisées qui offrent des soins complets et fondés sur des données probantes tout au long de la vie.

Ici au Nouveau-Brunswick, toutes les IP complètent une maîtrise, et certaines détiennent également un doctorat.

Les IP travaillent dans divers milieux : hôpitaux, cliniques de soins primaires, centres de santé communautaires, établissements de soins de longue durée, services en dépendance et en santé mentale, ainsi que les services de soins virtuels. Elles évaluent, diagnostiquent, traitent, prescrivent et collaborent avec d’autres professionnels de la santé pour offrir des soins centrés sur la personne. 💙

Les IP jouent un rôle essentiel pour renforcer notre système de santé et offrir aux Néo-Brunswickois les soins auxquels ils ont droit.
