I haven't painted in ages. I don't know why. I probably just need to clean my studio. But I have been finding lots of cool stuff outside, and I've made these little sculptures out of driftwood, cedar, snails shells, and teeth. Enjoy.

It's been a hot minute...literally. But I'm back! Got my brushes out and my groove on.

Cosmic Frog. 2024. Acrylic and spray paint on canvas. A deep examination of what it means to be an invasive species, from the perspective of another invasive species. Why is home a finite thing, when the entire universe is our playground? Did I do acid before painting this? No. But that might have made it a whole lot better.

I've been working on this thing. Slowly, because I have very little confidence that my talent lives up to my imagination. But with every bit that I add, or fix, I love it more.
I'm a wham, bam, there you go ma'am sort of artist. When I write, when I paint, when I act, I go hard and fast and have few regrets. This is a departure for me. And I think I like it.

Hot Times, Sky Rats and the City.

Maybe it's the heat, maybe it's the general sense of gritty despair permeating so much of life these days. All I know for sure is that I went to Toronto and took a million photos of pigeons, and this is the result.
$70 or 12 bags of breadcrumbs and half a piece of fried chicken.

What's it gonna be? For once I have done an intricate and complete sketch and this one is going to be heavily detailed. It started with a deep dive into animal group names, and now it's heading toward Heironymous Bosch territory. Keep watching.

This delicate exploration of the intersection of religious iconography and the obsession with prehistoric reptiles plays with the balance of light and dark, the relationship between fiction and mythology, and examines the idea that some fantasies are meant to be outgrown while others are to be entrenched.
And I had some gold paint that I wanted to use.
