Merry Christmas to all ! Wow, what a contrast to last year… Christmas 2022 was snowing and minus 8 and today it’s raining and plus 4 degrees Celsius!

This was my drive from Mission to Abbotsford BC Jobsite this morning.
Before I left Mission at the intersection of Lougheed highway and Cedar Valley a Emil Anderson highway plow was trying to enter the road after turning around. I happily signaled him to enter, and followed the plow into Abbotsford.

If you get a chance to thank a highway or municipal employee for keeping our roads clear please do! A thank you or a coffe at Tim Hortons goes a long way!

When an employee’s performance is consistently good, it becomes expected and may unknowingly be taken for granted.

I have seen people in leadership positions manipulate high-performing employees to produce more and take on the burden of others while nothing is done to address the significant shortfall in the performance of other team members. At some point, this person will get burned out and lose all inspiration to continue performing at such a high level.

According to Tim McClure, when passionate employees become quiet, it usually signals that the work environment has become very dysfunctional. As a leader, I would like you to observe and act on this immediately.

Please don’t push your most loyal people to the point that they no longer care. When you have people passionate, inspired, and motivated to help the company achieve its vision while fulfilling its purpose, you must do everything in your power to ensure that this team keeps this vibe. Otherwise, you risk pushing away great talent while settling for mediocrity.

As of Tuesday October 4, 2022 BERG/360 SAFETY has been providing afternoon shift fire watch for a customer removing the grapple loader at the old Interfor Hammond Cedar Mill (RIP 2019) in Maple Ridge BC.

A complex job with the machine being on the third level of the log in-feed deck.
Fire protection consists of multiple 1 1/2” fire hose lines with hydrant supply and many portable fire extinguishers.

The building and site are currently being demolished. Areas of the property have being re purposed for industrial and commercial use.

Tuesday day 4 of 10 day shut down at my mill. We are providing first aid and fire watch/suppression for a custom cut sawmill.

10 hrs per day Monday-Friday, and 12 He shifts on the weekends. Awesome crew! Thanks for a great job and staying safe.

Its been a busy week on the Kamloops BC job.

Protecting workers is not only a good practice it's also Law in BC. Protecting the environment and wildlife are equally important. We take great steps to protect both. applying orange safety fence around excavations, and poly plastic on spill piles and slopes to prevent erosion.

Access thru the site is on private property. This is a privilege we all respect. There is also a Mule Deer and her fawn frequenting the site.

360 Safety is pleased to share we are into the first full week of supplying on site OFA 3 services for a customer outside Kamloops BC. WorksafeBC requirements are OFA 3 and ETV on site.
