Fundamental care of:

This consists of mobility and health assessment, patient teaching, and any necessary interventions such as:
●trimming nails
●buffing corns and calluses
●debriding thickened nails

To treat and prevent foot and nail problems that may arise from the following:
●general wear and tear due to
●wearing ill-fitting shoes
●injuries
●infections
●complications of disease such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease


How do you know if you need foot care?
You can benefit from assistance with foot care if:
●You suffer from any of the following
○Diabetes
○Dementia
○poor eyesight
○poor hand/eye coordination
●Are unable to reach due to arthritis, surgery or obesity
●Have thickened nails
●Lack of strength
●Pregnancy
●Taking blood thinning medication daily (aspirin, warfarin, Plavix)

●Nail trimming and filing for patients who are unable to perform this task themselves, in cases of nerve damage, arthritis, etc.
