Another patient case at our clinic today:
This patient, living with diabetes, presented with very dry skin, early callus formation, plantar fasciitis, and a diagnosed Morton’s neuroma on one foot. These are common complications we see in diabetic feet when not properly cared for.

If you are diabetic, foot care is essential:
• Moisturize daily (but avoid between the toes)
• Inspect your feet every day for cuts, cracks, or swelling
• Wear well-fitted shoes and custom orthotics when needed
• Never walk barefoot, even at home
• See a foot specialist regularly

At True North Orthotics Clinic, we help manage and prevent complications before they become serious.
Your feet carry you for life — care for them well.

Another patient case:
This patient has diabetes and presented with peeling skin.
For diabetic patients, it’s crucial to keep the feet clean and dry, especially between the toes, to prevent infections, wounds, and serious complications.
Daily foot checks, proper hygiene, moisturizing (avoiding between the toes), and wearing supportive footwear are key steps to protecting diabetic feet.👣 647-740-5070

This young patient presented to the clinic with visible forefoot abduction, where the front of the foot points outward while the knees remain relatively straight.
This condition often occurs alongside flat feet (pes planus) and midfoot instability, leading to improper alignment, increased strain on the joints, and potential pain over time. Early intervention is key to promoting healthy foot development and preventing future complications!

Today at the clinic:
This young boy presented with pronated feet, collapsed arches (pes planus), and valgus heel positioning (heels tilting outward).
This alignment can lead to fatigue, pain, and instability, especially as children grow and become more active.
Early assessment and proper support, such as custom orthotics and supportive footwear, can help realign the feet, reduce strain on joints, and promote healthy development.

We are proud to offer tailored care to help young patients move better, feel better, and grow strong!

Orthotics vs. orthopaedic shoes

Orthotics are supportive devices placed inside your shoe to correct biomechanical imbalances and function. They can be made of cork, leather, graphite, plastic, foam or rubber.

Orthopaedic shoes are custom corrective footwear that accommodate foot deformities (i.e. bunions), injuries, open sores or neurological conditions affecting your feet. For additional support, orthotics can be place in orthopaedic shoes.
