In January, we celebrated Galentine’s Day a little early with an afternoon of jewelry making and vision boards in the Saddington Studio. Residents chose their favourite charms and shared the stories behind why each one mattered to them. The creative energy continued as vision boards took shape, filled with images, words, and symbols reflecting personal goals and dreams. Our monthly Life Enrichment Planning meetings give residents a platform to share their interests, and this time it led to a musical matinee at the Princess of Wales Theatre in downtown Toronto. Residents hopped on The Shores bus, partnered with our sister property Port Credit Residences, and spent the afternoon together in the city. These programs are designed to support social connection and a sense of community, with more shows to come.

Remembering the fun we had with residents headed to the New Year’s Eve Gala, a little more dressed up than usual and stopping for a glass of bubbly in the lobby. Even Chef Gus was there, ready for a photo so there was no need to rush as there was time to take in the atmosphere before the doors opened for dinner. It was before the evening unfolded. The Retirement Residence is a 161-suite, full-service senior living rental building designed for all levels of independence. 101 suites within this residence are designed for those seniors who seek the convenience of retirement living with services such as meals, housekeeping and wellness programs always available and a selection of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with large outdoor terrace or balcony, enviable views and a full spectrum of services available for everyone.

Residents will dine in the style they choose selecting the formal dining room or, for casual fare, the bistro. Amenities within this residence aim to take resident health and wellness straight on offering a hydrotherapy pool within a comprehensive wellness spa complete with physiotherapy and a menu of spa services. The Shores offers a theatre, advanced learning and activity centre with multiple socializing and active spaces to keep your friendships alive and your mind active.

On the second and third floors within the Retirement Residence are four highly specialized households; the Assisted Living Households and Memory Care Households will be home to seniors who require enhanced support to live each day with dignity and joy. Specially trained staff and unique design elements within each Household work to enable seniors with physical frailties and dementia related illnesses live their best life possible.
