It’s soup season at The Shores! Today’s feature: Egg Drop Soup, served with care by our dining room supervisor, Marifi (though most of us call her Mafi). She’s been part of our kitchen team for years, and this recipe is a Shore’s favourite for a reason. Light, flavourful, and just the thing to make anyone feel cozy despite the fall chill. Looking back, the Senior’s Expo definitely stands out as one of the highlights from the end of last year. Residents and guests to The Shores came together to connect with wellness experts and explore new ways to stay active and informed. You might recognize Howard Andrei S. Pulanco from the dining room, where he worked before becoming our Administrative Office Assistant at The Shores of Port Credit. Howard enjoys the everyday interactions that brighten his day, from chatting with residents to working alongside the team. He says serving in the dining room helped him build friendships, and now those same residents come to him with questions about the community and its amenities. Remembering the fun we had with residents headed to the New Year’s Eve Gala, a little more dressed up than usual and stopping for a glass of bubbly in the lobby. Even Chef Gus was there, ready for a photo so there was no need to rush as there was time to take in the atmosphere before the doors opened for dinner. It was before the evening unfolded. This evening, we light the first candle of the menorah, with a wish in our hearts that all our residents and their families have a very Happy Hanukkah! This is a time for joy, reflection, and togetherness. So today, we will be celebrating the miracles, sharing stories, and enjoying some of our resident's favourite treats like latkes and sufganiyot. Recently we opened our doors for a fall flower arranging class. Residents, along with future neighbours and a few other welcome guests, came together to enjoy one of our most favourite classes. The incredible team at Carisma Florists provided the tools, tips and buckets of stunning blooms, the rest was in the hands of the students. The finished bouquets definitely added a vibrant pop of colour to the atrium. We can’t wait for these new skills get applied to our already stunning floral arrangements in the dining room!

Welcome to The Shores of Port Credit. A community for seniors that allows you to live your way.

The Retirement Residence is a 161-suite, full-service senior living rental building designed for all levels of independence. 101 suites within this residence are designed for those seniors who seek the convenience of retirement living with services such as meals, housekeeping and wellness programs always available and a selection of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with large outdoor terrace or balcony, enviable views and a full spectrum of services available for everyone.

Residents will dine in the style they choose selecting the formal dining room or, for casual fare, the bistro. Amenities within this residence aim to take resident health and wellness straight on offering a hydrotherapy pool within a comprehensive wellness spa complete with physiotherapy and a menu of spa services. The Shores offers a theatre, advanced learning and activity centre with multiple socializing and active spaces to keep your friendships alive and your mind active.

On the second and third floors within the Retirement Residence are four highly specialized households; the Assisted Living Households and Memory Care Households will be home to seniors who require enhanced support to live each day with dignity and joy. Specially trained staff and unique design elements within each Household work to enable seniors with physical frailties and dementia related illnesses live their best life possible.
