πŸ’› PB + Chocolate ? Try this!!!

Prep time: ~35 minutes

INGREDIENTS
Pitted dates
Dark chocolate bar or chips (unsweetened)
Peanut butter or other nut butter of choice (unsweetened)
Nut/seed of choice for some added crunch

DIRECTIONS
1. Melt chocolate using double broiler method
2. Fill dates with peanut butter + walnut and freeze for 5-10 mins
3. Coat in chocolate and freeze again for 5-10 mins
4. Add a second coat of chocolate if you're a chocolate lover like me
5. Sprinkle salt while chocolate is still melted
6. Store in freezer + ENJOY!

Easy "cream" of mushroom soup πŸ„

Alright here is my first reel! πŸŽ₯

I've been dabbling with these for awhile but have been hesitant on posting because they weren't "perfect or worthy of posting", which is really silly πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

So here it is!

Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 30-40 mins

Ingredients
βœ… 1/4 head of cauliflower
βœ… 2 cups of mushrooms (I used a mix)
βœ… 1 yellow onion, diced
βœ… Rosemary, thyme, S&P
βœ… 1 heaping tbsp of ghee
βœ… 1/2 cup of cashew milk
βœ… 1 broth (unsalted)

Food sensitivites & intolerances

They can cause a wide range of symptoms in individuals, which can manifest in minutes/hours/days ⏳

COMMON SYMPTOMS
❌ Diarrhea/constipation
❌ Bloating
❌ Skin rashes, Acne, Eczema etc.
❌ Chronic headaches
❌ Chronic fatigue, low mood
❌ Chronic congestion

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN ? πŸ€”
When we consume something that we are sensitive to (food trigger), it elicits an inflammatory response.

When the trigger is taken away, the inflammatory response should dampen/resolve, and healing can occur πŸ‘

When we are exposed to the trigger on a regular basis (daily or weekly for some) the inflammatory response does not dampen and healing is haulted πŸ‘Ž

This is why the Elimination Diet or a modified Elimination Diet can be helpful in facilitating healing πŸ‘Œ

Breakfast time ✨

I'm not usually an oatmeal gal but I've been craving it and eating quite a bit of it lately. πŸ₯£

I've realized I like it a lot more when there's less oats and more toppings! With every meal I make I try to keep these things in mind ⬇️


βœ… Focus on a balanced plate at every meal (protein, high fiber carbs, healthy fats, veggies, fruits). This will ensure you're getting a variety of nutrients, help balance your blood sugar levels and keep you full and energized!

βœ… Aim for whole foods and avoid packaged goods with added sugars, preservatives and things you don't need.

βœ… Remind yourself that every meal is an opportunity to nourish your body. Focus less on calories and what's "healthy food" vs. "bad food" and focus more on eating for joy and vitality!

So, what's in my oatmeal?

1/4 cup of rolled oats
1 tbsp of unsweetened coconut shreds
1/4 tsp each of cinnamon and ginger
1 tsp of ghee (trust me on this!)
2 tbsp of collagen powder
1 cup of water to cook it all down

Topped with my toasted nuts and seeds mix, fresh fruit and a splash of soy milk πŸ‘

Happy New Year ✨

2020 has been a wild ride to say the least, but it also gave me the opportunity to relearn a few things:

✨ The power of community & connection. I literally could not have made it this far without the constant support of my family, friends and colleagues.

✨ Taking a break or slowing down does not equate to failure, laziness or define your worth or success. It's okay to take it slow.

✨ Adapting to change and letting go of control. Sometimes we need to recognize what is within our control and beyond our control for our peace of mind.

✨ The importance of prioritizing our mental, emotional and physical well-being. This was the biggest focus in my practice this year and is the reason why I wanted to launch the Accessible Care Program in 2021.

I know how powerful naturopathic medicine can be in someone's health journey. But I also recognize that it may not be feasible for some due to financial limitations.

My goal for 2021 is to continue building a practice that aligns with my vision of providing accessible care to my community. πŸ’›
