Many things in life can cause you to feel off balance or not like yourself.

This can include a current event that is challenging, difficult life transitions, lack of motivation, feeling 'stuck’, grief and loss, or simply “not right”. When you experience any of these situations, you can feel alone, scared to say how you really feel or perhaps just confused. Seeking therapy is difficult for many; perhaps it is the not knowing of what to expect, the fear that no one could bear to listen, that is not as important as other’s experiences, that is not safe or that it’s impossible that someone would understand your experiences, your confusion, or just afraid that you won‘t be good at it. Yet, you are here making the first step. I will provide the presence and emotional space where you can make sense of the challenge you are facing. Right from the start therapy can be so daunting: Which is the right therapist for me? What modality? There are so many of them, with so many ways of practice. You may wonder: Can this one help me? How does this work? You are right to feel confused. Some people prefer a more direct therapeutic approach: homework assignments, goals that are set and measured at different intervals, while others prefer a less-directive approach. My approach is collaborative and less-directive. People that find my work beneficial have some experience with a directive approach, which seemed to have helped for a while and find no longer satisfying and applicable for their older or newer challenges. I know that all of our different approaches work well for a certain people. What seems to be decisive in a client’s evaluation of successful therapy is the relationship established with the therapist and trusting that the therapist knows what they’re doing. We can discuss my credentials, registration number and
trainings attended on our first session.
