Luso Canadian Charitable Society Caring, Celebrating, Nurturing and Empowering individuals living with disabilities since 2003.
-Toronto - Mississauga - Hamilton-

Luso Canadian Charitable Society is a non profit charitable organization as of August 3, 2003. We provide support services to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities allowing much needed temporary relief for families/caregivers while providing a safe, nurturing environment and a sense of well-being. Since our organization does not receive any ongoing government funding, we heavily rely on the generosity of our community for support to continue fulfilling our commitment of providing quality programs and services to all persons with disabilities.

Last week at Luso Hamilton, participants took part in a MasterChef Challenge where they all had the opportunity to make their very own omelettes from scratch! With the support of staff, participants chopped veggies, cracked eggs, cooked, and flipped their omelettes resulting in some amazing culinary creations.

Life skills development is an important part of our programming here at Luso, and we love to see the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction of our participants when they learn something new.

What an incredible evening at Luso Support Centre Hamilton’s Annual Amigas Event!

More than 325 women gathered in their best Denim & Diamonds to celebrate friendship and community while raising $21,500 in support of Luso’s Day Program for adults living with disabilities.

This event would not be possible without our amazing sponsors; Inclusive Quality Care Ltd., Ridgepoint Contracting, and Rose Martinho. A very special thank you to Mary’s Exclusive Catering for providing the fantastic meal, and to the dedicated Amigas das Malassadas, who woke up bright & early to prepare homemade malassadas, and raised $1,550 in support of the Centre.

After dinner, Luso parents, and our keynote speakers, Rosemary Repchull & Bruna Mazzetti shared their experiences and the impact Luso has had on their families. Guests then got to enjoy the dance floor with music by DJ Hugo Matos of Imperial Entertainment.

We’d like to extend our immense gratitude to all our volunteers, supporters, and every woman who attended. Your participation and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.

Luso Hamilton Participants are getting ready for the predicted early Spring — but not before enjoying some winter fun! ❄️🌱

Last week, Participants focused on winter sports inspired by the upcoming Winter Olympics, with games and challenges to keep them active and energized. They also celebrated Groundhog Day by taking turns peeking out of their burrows to help predict when Spring is coming. Just like Wiarton W***y, they’re calling it an early Spring!

Across all three Luso Centres, Participants are staying busy and making the most of the season with engaging and exciting activities.
