Mizzy and I stumbled upon the biggest prickly lettuce patch! I walk by here all the time and somehow missed it…? 😆 My iPhone plant ID feature tells me the last picture is of catnip peeking out from amongst all the lettuce. I will have to ask to confirm but Mizzy was in a hurry to smell all the things so that will be another day.

Beautiful prickly lettuce and the first black walnut of summer!! Not a ball, much to Mizzy’s dismay. 😆
I am headed out tomorrow for the third weekend of Year One and am so excited to spend time on the land with the plants. 🌱

I can’t get enough of my new friend!
Did you know that unlike monarchs, swallowtails overwinter on their host plant and come out in the spring?
I really hope it decides to stay and we can watch it throughout the seasons. Apparently their cocoon is a light shade of green and blends in so well with the plant it is often hard to find. So many cool things to learn!!

Weekend 2 ❤️

To be in a space with the plants and these amazing women. To be safe to feel vulnerable, to sing, to dance, to cry. It is such a gift and I am forever in gratitude for all of it.

I came home and found plants that we worked with, who I had never met before, growing in my front garden… 🤯 Like they knew how much I needed them and were just waiting for me to figure it out, knowing one day soon I would. Have I told you how much I just really f**king love these plants!?!? I am just constantly in awe of how much they can teach us if we open ourselves to listen.
