Do you feel stuck in the same argument with your partner, repeating the same painful patterns? You might be in what therapists call an "attachment dance."

One partner, often with an anxious style, seeks more connection and reassurance, their fear of abandonment loud and persistent. The other, often with an avoidant style, pulls away to create space and manage their own fear of being overwhelmed. It is a cycle where each person's survival strategy unintentionally triggers the other's deepest fears. This is not about who is right. It is about a pattern you are both caught in.

That feeling of tension and worry… is it stress, or is it anxiety?

While they can feel similar, understanding the difference is the first step toward finding the right support. Stress is typically a response to an external pressure and fades once the situation resolves.

Anxiety, however, is often internal and persistent, a sense of dread that lingers even in the absence of an immediate threat. Both are valid experiences, and both deserve attention. Giving a name to what you are feeling is an act of self-awareness and courage. 🧠🔍💬
