Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Chinese Medicine is a growing profession with an exciting future. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life.

We are a warm, energetic, engaged community of people who appreciate and support each other. Our faculty are experts with wide-ranging clinical practices and an average of more than 10 years teaching experience. We are dedicated to promoting our patients’ health, our students’ success and our graduates’ careers. You may be wondering about the portability of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture or, in other words, how easy it is to move and set up practice in other jurisdictions. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a wonderful profession in that it can meet the needs of the person who wants to settle into a stable practice as well as those who want to travel the world. In North America, Traditional Chinese Medicine is typically regulated by province or state, and each one has its own set of requirements. Ontario graduates, who have completed one of the most extensive programs in North America, generally find that the requirements of other jurisdictions are easily met. Portability within Canada is generally a simple process of presenting your Ontario credentials. Our curriculum is built from years of experience, through clinical experience and academic research. Our clinical program gives students unparalleled access to different types of people and health conditions. We build confidence and skill through classroom-to-clinic integration and a focus on experiential learning. We provide on-site and off-site placements that include broad access to hospital and rehabilitation settings.

Ancient Acupuncture Sparks Stem Cells to Heal Organs Naturally

A remarkable discovery from Taiwan is reshaping how science understands healing. Taiwanese researchers report that acupuncture may trigger the release of stem cells, helping the body repair damaged organs using its own natural systems. What was once considered alternative therapy is now being explored through modern medicine.

In controlled studies, specific acupuncture points were stimulated while researchers monitored biological changes. They observed an increase in circulating stem cells, the body’s repair units that migrate to injured tissue. These cells are known to support regeneration in organs such as the liver, kidneys, and heart. Scientists believe acupuncture activates nerve pathways and biochemical signals that tell the bone marrow to release stem cells into the bloodstream.

This matters for health and wellness because organ damage is often treated with lifelong medication or invasive procedures. If the body can be encouraged to heal itself, treatment could become safer, less costly, and more accessible. The findings may also explain why acupuncture has long been reported to reduce pain, improve recovery, and enhance overall vitality.

While researchers stress this is not a replacement for medical treatment, the study highlights a powerful bridge between ancient practice and modern science. It suggests the body has untapped repair mechanisms waiting to be activated.

As medicine looks toward regenerative solutions, this discovery raises an exciting question: could healing the future mean working with the body instead of overriding it?
