We are thankful for the community of Mississauga whose kindness and generosity allow us to continue providing compassionate care, and vital supports to the community. Holidays can be a challenging time for those experiencing the loss of a loved one and we are grateful to be able to support individuals through the work of our incredible staff and volunteers.

Every year, more than 73 million people around the world require palliative care.

Palliative care relieves pain, restores dignity, and supports people and families through difficult moments. It is life-enhancing and essential to community well-being.

It's a fact that most hospice palliative care is provided in people's homes as that is where people want to be. However dedicated Hospice Centres are an important tool in the provision of care for individuals.

It is hard to believe that Mississauga does not have a dedicated Hospice Centre at this time. BUT it is coming...

We are building Mississauga's very first Hospice Centre—a place of compassion, care, and comfort. With 12 dedicated care suites and supportive spaces, we will be bringing vital palliative care closer to home for the people who need it most.

Today is National Children’s Hospice Palliative Care Day! We know that when a loved one is seriously ill, children need compassionate support too.

Our HUUG Program supports children and youth as they navigate grief, illness, and loss. One of the special activities we use in HUUG are Connection Bears. These bears are created in pairs – one for the child and one for their loved one who is dying. They serve as a beautiful way to foster connection, comfort, and lasting memories.

Our teams came out full of spirit, creativity, and determination at the Hospice Mississauga Bed Race — and the energy at the starting line carried through every race to the finish. The beds were bold, the cheers were loud, and the community came together in such a fun and meaningful way. Congratulations to the Holman Young Guns for winning the race!

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours the children who never returned home and remembers survivors of the Residential School system—institutions that forcibly removed Indigenous children from their families, stripped them of their cultures, and subjected many to abuse, neglect, and death.

The residential school legacy is deeply painful and continues to affect families and communities across generations. September 30 was established in 2021 following Truth and Reconciliation Commission Call to Action #80, which called for a statutory day of commemoration.
