Margaret loves the arts especially visual arts and movement. In her work, besides working with children, she also works with families, parents and couples.

What She Loves ❤️
Margaret loves yoga, hiking and dance. She also loves being outside in nature especially by the lake.

How They Work 💼
Through art therapy, a form of psychotherapy, she helps children express themselves, communicate and make connections. She assists in understanding and processing their feelings, supports language skills, helps to make connection to themselves and others. She also helps with sensory stimulation and allows her clients to feel safe, focused and engaged with the art.

🌟 Sibling Support & Adventure! 🌟

Are you a sibling of someone who is neurodiverse? Join us for a special Sibling Group hosted by Carline Summers, Registered Social Worker.

This group offers a safe and supportive space for siblings to share experiences, connect with others who understand, and explore what it means to grow up alongside a neurodiverse brother or sister. 💬💙

To build connection and confidence, we’ll be taking our teamwork to new heights with a rock climbing experience! 🧗‍♀️

Through this fun, guided activity, participants will strengthen communication, trust, and collaboration — all while having a great time together.

Meet Kandice, Registered Psychotherapist 🧠

Areas of Expertise 💡
I specialize in working with adults, teens, children and youth, including developmental, learning, emotional challenges, as well as everyday life struggles. My focus is on helping clients build coping strategies, strengthen social and emotional skills, and develop confidence in their own unique abilities. I focus on using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I also use a Person Centred approach in all of my work to ensure the clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their own growth and healing journey.

What She Loves ❤️
Professionally, I love seeing the small wins turn into big changes, whether it’s a client using a new coping tool, connecting more easily with others, or gaining confidence in themselves. I also really enjoy collaborating with families and schools to create supportive environments where kids can thrive when working with youth. Personally, I love educating myself on new therapeutic techniques to help better serve all of my client populations.

How She Works 💼
My approach is collaborative, playful, and strengths-based. I use a variety of tools such as therapeutic play, creative activities, and skill-building exercises to meet kids where they are at. I also use emotion focused and individualized techniques when working with teens and adults. I work closely with parents, caregivers, and educators so that progress continues beyond our sessions and supports the child in every part of their daily life.

We love outcomes! We don't believe in doing things for the sake of doing them. We set out with goals and targets and ensure that we do everything in our power to help our families achieve them.

How They Work 💼
We are very collaborative and work to establish roles and responsibilities within the team so that everyone is literally and figuratively on the same page. In the absence of a team, we will create one as directed by the individual we are supporting. We see where the needs are and fill in the gaps to address any and all potentials for a plan to not see its way to a successful outcome.

We're happy to partner with to off the Friend Den: an inclusive weekly drop-off program with small group ratios.

The Friend Den is ideal for children and teens who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have diverse learning styles. The recreational programs are designed to support children and youth through inclusive, engaging, and purposeful activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Program Details:
📍 Location: Hamilton Italian Center, 420 Crerar Drive, Hamilton, ON, Room 105

🕔 Schedule: October-December 2025 (12 weeks)

Thursdays | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM – for children and youth ages 6–17
