Its been a while since I celebrated the beginning of this amazing chapter in my life. COPE has definitely become more like a book and I am nothing short of grateful! This part of life’s journey has taught me so much and as I continue to learn, grow and evolve as an entrepreneur, I pray for continued abundance, guidance, leadership, and protection!

Its still May which means this is mental health awareness month! This month we pay special attention to mental health and mental illness but really and truly we should be paying that special attention every month. Every day in fact. Mental health is health and if we are not mentally stable how can we expect anything else to be okay.

Lets ensure that this month and every month we are prioritizing our MENTAL

This week is Black Mental Health week which a few years ago was acknowledged in order for us to pay attention to the mental health impact of anti-Black racism.

YES YOU HEARD RIGHT! Racism = signs and symptoms of anxiety & depression. Racism = trauma & generational trauma!

Black Community lets make sure that we are prioritizing our mental health. Self care is not a new hair style, a new bag, or a new set of nails. Self care is making sure that you have the tools to navigate life’s challenges

Ok so I should have posted this days ago but as the post says its break time, so I am now getting to it. Cope will be closed for the season and reopening on the 9th of January! We all need time to rest and reflect so over this down time I will be doing just that. I will be posting updates here to keep it locked for the latest news.

As a daughter, sister, wife, mother to 4 boys and a growing individual I can't tell you how full my plate is..nonetheless, ever GRATEFUL to life and all it's Blessings and lessons!!

Before you keep scrolling, READ the post! You do not even have to LIKE the post, just READ the post!
Therapy is a great tool and can even become an essential part of the healing process, but I am not going to sit here and pretend like therapy is not something that needs to be decolonized! Traditionally therapists have not taken into consideration the generational impact of colonialism and slavery
I can say with confidence that times are changing and the Black Psychotherapist Community is working hard to create evolution through revolution in the field

Boundaries are a huge part of adulting. It’s important for our relationships and especially for our mental health. Setting boundaries will be uncomfortable at first but it will all be worth it in the long run. It will change your life! No more internal battles, no more resentment, better relationships and self care!
