Osteopathy

My name is Kayla Di Venosa. I am a classically trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. I studied at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton, Ontario, completing the 1 year Pre-Osteopathy program and the 4 year Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences program. I am now registered member and in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association.

Osteopathy and I came together when I was 18 years old. I’ve always had such a passion for health care and being a recent graduate from high school I was looking into health care professions as a career option. In the midst of all this, I was suffering from sciatica. I received care from different alternative health care providers and eventually was told to seek out Osteopathy. Over the course of 5 treatments, the sciatic pain had cleared.

Immediately I looked into the school my Osteopathic Practitioner attended and arranged a visit day to see and better understand what Osteopathy had to offer. I felt such a strong connection with the school and knew it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I began this wonderful Osteopathic journey as a student and now continue down this path as a practitioner.

Osteopathy is much more than a science and manual therapy. It is an art form and should be performed as such. Rendering treatment with this in mind helps a practitioner like myself to stay true to the roots of Classical Osteopathy. Utilizing the techniques we were trained to use but with purpose and rhythm is what makes Osteopathy so powerful. This is what pulls out my passion and drive to help patients achieve health and restore balance to their overall being.
