I always have a good chuckle when I’m working on the SCM muscle (front of the neck, responsible for nodding forward and rotation) or under the jaw, and someone asks if I’m squeezing their neck fat 🤣. Restriction at the front of the neck = restriction and compression to the structures listed on the 2nd slide.
Here are a few of note you may have heard of that are VITAL to function:
-thyroid
-vagus nerve
-carotid arteries
-jugular veins
-phrenic nerve
Etc…

I get asked this a lot, so why not put it out here.
- Begin with dynamic stretching/dynamic warm up: active movements that stretch the muscles and bring joints into their full range of motion
- Static Stretching: Done at the end of your exercise, stretching and lengthening your muscle and holding for a short length of time.

✨ Keep an eye on stories for examples of each type.

I started using my business Instagram account in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic when I (like SO many others) was forced home and out of work. Creating content became a fun way to connect with both my creative side in a time of high anxiety and stress, as well as with my patients while I couldn’t. I wanted to help, even if I couldn’t physically. I wanted to offer solidarity and inspiration as well as some tips so you all didn’t make my job harder than it needs to be when we were able to safely meet again 😂 😅😜.

Creating the content was so much easier when I was off work and only had one child who was at the time on a 2 nap schedule! (For the record - life was still challenging at this stage!) It’s a little trickier now with 2 toddlers and a growing practice (Um plus Instagram loves reels now and so now I have to learn a few new tricks?!?)! And while I’m so glad I’m back to connecting with you all in person in clinic, I am missing connecting with you here too and feeding my creative side while I’m at it. Oh, and I’ve also missed about 28 holidays since my last post. So happy all of the things!

So, my question is (if you’re still reading along)… what are you looking for from me here? What posts did you like to see? Are you looking more for Osteo tips and prevention and maintenance? Exercise tips to help create injury free stability? Inspirational quotes? Some of my personal life sprinkled in or all osteopathy and anatomy/physiology based? Posts? Stories? Funny reels? Informative reels?

I’m going to put some questions up in my stories. Let me know here or there what you’d like to see from my page!

This is almost always not quite✨accurate✨.
You might have one leg that ✨appears✨ longer or shorter, but the truth of the matter is that most of the time, this is actually effects from a curvature in the spine or a pelvic misalignment.

And the great news is - that it’s treatable with Osteopathy. Tap the link in the bio to schedule your initial assessment and treatment to determine if it’s a true leg length discrepancy or an anatomical framework misalignment!
