Today, we wear red dresses to remember and honour the lives of Indigenous women, girls, and Two‑Spirit people who have been taken by violence and to stand with families and communities who continue to seek justice and healing. The red dress is a powerful symbol: a call to action, a reminder of the lives lost, and a commitment to end gender‑based and colonial violence. As educators and union members, we reaffirm our responsibility to create spaces of safety, truth, and reconciliation. We listen, learn, and act because every life deserves dignity, respect, and remembrance.
