Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects quality of life for millions of people, yet many still struggle with pain and side effects despite standard hormonal and surgical care. This narrative review synthesizes recent clinical trials (2020–2025) on integrative strategies that may complement conventional management.
We summarize evidence for dietary patterns (Mediterranean-style and low-FODMAP diets), targeted nutraceuticals (antioxidant vitamins, vitamin D, melatonin, curcumin, omega-3s), acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, as well as lifestyle and mind–body interventions such as yoga, self-management programs, mindfulness, and CBT.
Across studies, these approaches show promising reductions in pain, improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms, sleep and mental health, and modulation of inflammatory and neuroendocrine pathways, with generally favourable safety profiles. We also highlight key research gaps, including the need for larger, better-designed trials and phenotype-specific outcomes (deep infiltrating vs superficial disease).
This article offers practical, mechanism-informed options for clinicians and patients seeking a multimodal plan.
