Physical Benefits of Balance Poses

Each balance pose can be used to build strength in different body parts, muscles and joints. As we deepen the practice, we engage new elements into the pose to reach the next level. There’s always a progression available in any pose, so we can improve the practice anytime we feel ready!
Well, obviously the main benefit of practicing balance poses is a balance itself 🙂 – both in the body, and the mind!

Balance Yoga Poses were found to be very helpful in relieving stress and reducing inner tension. Additionally, they improve focus, concentration and memory. Finally, the unquestionable benefit of the poses is the ability to control emotions in critical and stressful moments.

We can’t function without a spine. Yet many of us under-appreciate it. Why?

We focus on legs, arms, chest, back, heck we even spend 5 minutes of a yoga class warming up our wrists! Those little joints at the end of arms get love, but our spine, the joints that hold our entire body together, the channel of our spinal cord, the thing we use every single moment of our life to support our head, brain and our organs, is taken for granted! Art, creating and making something from nothing has always been my favorite type of meditation.

Remembing that meditation comes in different forms is key, you don't have to be cross legged and without thoughts to meditate!

Anything that brings you into the present moment, clears your mind and brings you joy will present the same benefits as the cross legged meditation.

Children's Yoga, the gift that keeps on growing. Through song, story, art, games, exploration with breathing, small meditation techniques and movement they will learn how to keep in touch with their emotions, to move in new and creative ways, and to connect with others and themselves in meaningful ways.

Yoga and all its limbs will show them that the stillness within is a safe and supportive sanctuary. Yoga is proven to assist children, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. They learn about their bodies, the vessel that holds their unique energy. They also learn there is many layers to life and to the self. More importantly they learn the depth of relationships they develop with others and with themselves.

7 Benefits of Yoga for Young Kids

Yoga is not just for adults! In fact, it can give children very important life skills that can help them succeed in the world.

1. Yoga helps children manage their anxiety. The breathing exercises and relaxation techniques learned from practicing yoga can help children with stress management. Teaching children how to reduce stress in a healthy way is an important life skill that will help them as children and as adults.

2. Yoga improves children’s emotional regulation. Another benefit of yoga for children is that it helps children learn to be in the present moment while relaxing and gaining a peaceful state of mind, which ultimately improves their emotional regulation.

3. Yoga boosts children’s self-esteem. Yoga for kids can do wonders for their self-esteem. Perfecting a pose or improving their balance and flexibility can give young children a sense of personal empowerment.

4. Yoga increases children’s body awareness and mindfulness. Going through a variety of yoga poses helps children learn about their bodies and the movements they’re capable of doing.

5. Yoga enhances children’s concentration and memory. One of the top benefits of kids’ yoga is that the different types of moves requires children to focus and work on their memorization skills—both of which can translate over into their academic performance.
