Dr. Allanach has reviewed the current waitlist for seeing patients who have been referred for initial consultation.

The current waitlist for a total joint replacement is approximately 6-8 months.

There has been an increase in operative time which has improved the waiting time for surgery significantly over the past two years.

This increase in operative time has resulted in a decrease in the time available to initially assess patients for surgery.

The time from  referral to assessment is now exceeding six months, and of in some less urgent referrals, closer to a year.

Dr. Allanach’s office reviews all referrals and prioritizes based on the information provided in the referral, as well as the available imaging.

In order to get caught up with the wait times, Dr. Allanach’s office will be contacting patients to ensure they still want to be seen, and if their clinical status has changed, which may increase the priority. 

Dr. Allanach’s office will review the progress in three months for another update.

Looking for a part time medical admin. for 1-2 days per week. Will be most Thursdays and likely a Monday or a Wednesday depending on OR schedule.

Dr. Allanachs office will be closed from July 30 until August 11th.  Patients who have urgent orthopaedic surgery concerns during this time can present to the closest Emergency department and they can contact the orthopaedic surgeon on call.

Approximate waiting times for elective referrals:

Range 3-12 months depending on urgency which is determined by information on the referral and review of available imaging such as x-rays and/or MRI

Approximate waiting times for surgery:

Total hip and knee replacements are 3-8 months depending on urgency which is evaluated at the time of consultation

Outpatient procedures (i.e. day surgery) such as knee scopes, shoulder scopes are less than 6 months

Looking for a high-level LPN Join Dr. Allanach’s orthopedic surgery team.

Will be involved in all aspects of patient care from referral to postop follow up.

The position will pay will above hospital pay as well as include benefits.
