TESTIMONIAL (brought tears to my eyes)
Long read but worth the read if you’re looking for hope.

“ After months of calls and emails to numerous programs across canada and being declined for the perfect storm ( m**h addiction, severe brain injury from a near fatal accident and bipolar) , I was feeling so alone in my fight to save my family member.

My family member spent 9 weeks in hospital following an accident and they discharged my loved one with so many drugs after me pleading with them about the addiction , they still discharged us with all the medication.
Then repeatedly let down by our mental health and medical system my family member relapsed. I didn’t know where they went or how they were doing for weeks.
Following this my family member spent 35 days in a faith based program that didn’t understand or accommodate for his need to rest due to sever fatigue from brain injury and m**h withdrawals. They were not equipped due to being a start up and this ended in a 2nd relapse.

Finally I got the call! My loved one wanted recovery and help.

We started the detox at home alone and for 7 days it was hard but I was determined to do things better this time and not rely on our failed medical system and government.

I sat down and googled again and stumbled upon an article that mentioned Andre Viel.

This lead me to his book “the recovery lifestyle” , our saving grace.

I messaged Andre through Facebook with no expectations and he immediately responded letting me know he received my message and would reach out. AND suggested I do som**hing kind for myself because family take the biggest hit during this time.

I knew from this response I found someone who could help or guide me.

Andre made the time to call and we spoke for almost an hour. His ability to listen, understand and validate made me very emotional.
For the first time in a year, I felt seen.
I had hope , very guarded hope but hope yet again.

Andre made suggestions and collaborated with his network and I took some and implemented into our daily routine.
He followed up with me and has been so accessible.
If he didn’t have the information or the answer he was honest about it and sought the answer.

My family member is 30 days clean and when I say clean I mean truly clean.

The recovery lifestyle is my go to and I refer to it daily.

Andre’s passion, commitment and integrity have made him our angel on earth.
If you do nothing else BUY THE BOOK.

My heart is full and my prayers have been answered.“

Warmest thanks,

A little analogy I wrote yesterday

Sending love to all those suffering in silence.

Please take 2 minutes to honour all the amazing people we have lost to dark thoughts and inner pain.

I was on the plane and felt inspired to write, so I let it flow and here’s the message that came from it.. I love writing life analogie..
it’s entitled “Life’s a journey”
but it could also be called
“in a world of influencers be a Leader not an influencer”

Most won’t read because it’s to long lol but for those who do I hope you enjoy with an open mind 😊

“Life’s a journey

Life is a journey, like any other trip or journey the roads aren’t always a smooth highways..

When you head out on an adventure will you only drive on the smooth highway ?
No .. you will take whatever route is required to reach your destination.. that can include side roads, slow traffic, stressful city driving, dirt roads, mud, icy roads etc .. we still find a way to make through all these various obstacles to reach our destination. If we get stuck, will we curl up in middle of the road and quit .. no ! .. we will call CAA , a towing or a friend for help and then get back on our way.

Life is the same way.. we have a destination that we often associate to happiness, success, self worth or a certain desired lifestyle or life accomplishments .. but with social media and so called influencers these days we’ve come to a point where we as humans feel entitled to an easy smooth highway journey to our destination… and those false expectation hinders our ability to become more resilient and learn to flow through life obstacles.. the muddy roads, icy roads, stressful city driving life throws at us are their to help us grow and build resilience.it’s ok to ask for help if we get stuck and then we keep moving forward on our journey. But unfortunately in this era of take a pill and fix it we are creating a bigger and bigger societal sickness where everyone is offended by anything that’s said or done, opinions and beliefs are no longer personal or allowed … creating even more confusion with every young human being. We are trained to be offended and live life as victims. So now we are disconnected with ourselves and others, we fear thinking for ourselves or speaking our thoughts or truths so instead we find ways to numb ourselves so we don’t discover ourselves in fear society will not accept us or be insulted by us. We are robbing our youth of true identity by pushing all these new idealist ideas, victim mentality on everyone.. We use to watch TV or listen to the radio , read books written or created by true leader, thought leaders that challenged our thinking but allowed us to agree or disagree with the thoughts, hypothesis or opinion. Hence people were not in victim mode, people had som**hing called critical thinking that is being lost. Why ? Because we’ve replaced true leaders that will do or always choose to say what’s right over what’s popular no matter the consequence … (that’s a real leader )… today we mistake influencers for leaders .. don’t get me wrong some influencers are leaders but most influencers are nothing but trend pushers that create hype and authority around societal trends no matter if they are good for society or bad, no matter if they truly believe it or not .. as long as it gets them likes and followers they will push any trend. That in my mind is not a leader it’s an influencer that often lacks critical thinking and guts to do what’s right over what’s popular.

Yea life is hard, but that’s part of being human.. learning and building resilience is the solution .. pills are temporary and can often be part of the problem

Mental health is often a consequence and reflection of societal health (policies, community mindset and how we have been molded to experience life and see life to benefit the new society of consumption and online living)

Break free from the rat race created by the 1% by taking back your critical thinking and bravery to be yourself with your opinions and change your life to create the life you want and deserve versus the life you have been molded into from birth by your family and society.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE ❤️.
Powerful words from Disturbed’s David Draiman

It’s important you know your not alone, breaking the silence is so important in order to save other lives.

As a Man it’s hard to ask for help, society molds us into thinking strength meant never having hardships.. in reality strength is being able to overcome hardships. Now let’s not go to far again and try to go to the other extreme and turn men into emotional recks… but it’s important to start teaching our young men that it’s important to know when and how to ask for help and that it’s ok to speak to a therapist, close friends or family member about our struggles.

Again it’s ok to ask for help, no need to suffer alone in silence. I’ve struggled with my own demons of addiction, depression and PTSD… with help I’ve been able to slay most of those demons, I still suffer some days but I can now love life and enjoy life most of the time, without guidance and help I can say I wouldn’t be here anymore..

I’m still, a strong Man, a masculin Man, a protector to my family and loved ones, a leader and a lover .. but now I don’t suffer as much and have control over my thoughts, emotions and actions because I allowed myself to get help, so I’m other words I’m an even stronger and better man and Human being because I allowed my ego to rest and myself to find healing and balance. I will keep healing and growing until my last breath and hope this message and post will inspire many other Men suffering in silence to seek guidance and help because you are worth it and you are not alone.

Sending love to all those still suffering in silence ❤️

And sending love to my friend who sent this post to me, one of the few that knows me and sees me for who I am not what I’ve been through or done. Sending this was s simple gesture with s big impact thanks Dude ..

I’m challenging everyone to take a minute to reach out to a loved one that you think might need to hear that you care, that person might be the friend that Seems super happy and outgoing(sometimes that’s a mask to hide the pain inside).

With love
