Cold and flu season 🦠🤧 is upon us and the McKenna’s PharmaChoice team is READY FOR IT!!

We have all the over the counter options to get you through the season and we’ll be offering FLU VACCINES in 2️⃣ ways to serve you even better this year:
1️⃣ walk-in’s Monday-Friday between 1-3PM
2️⃣ Designsted Flu & Covid shot clinics with online or phone booking (walk-in’s also accepted during clinics☺️). Vaccination clinics will start next week. 💉

🔹A valid provincial health card IS required to register for an in-person or online Skip appointment.

🔹Doctors can only address 1 health concern per appointment.

🔹Doctors are scheduling these walk-in clinics before/after working ER shifts, at their family practice, or on their days off. To respect the doctor’s time and ensure clinics are finished on schedule, a specific number of appointments are scheduled each clinic (both Skip The Waiting Room and “true” walk-in appointments).
☝🏼Showing up during clinic hours does NOT guarantee you will be seen.

🔹 This is a full service clinic for non-emergencies. If you feel your medical needs are urgent, please call 911 or head directly to your closest emergency department.

Flu vaccines have arrived, however, we are still waiting on Covid vaccines.

We will begin vaccinating next week; we will be offering walk-in appointments as well as vaccination clinic days at that time. Please stay tuned for more details! 😊💉🦠

Last week was our largest number of clinic offerings yet; FIVE (5️⃣) clinics in one week!! That means, in one week alone, over ‼️100‼️patients were able to access the care they needed which directly translates to reducing pressure off our local Emergency Department 👏🏼

This wouldn’t have been possible without the hardworking and dedicated physicians (Dr. Campbell, Dr. Magennis, Dr. Whalen, Dr. Mooney, and Dr. Christensen) who go above and beyond to work these clinics 🙌🏾.

McKenna’s HealthCentre is a direct result of Dr. Campbell’s initiative, problem solving, collaboration, and leadership. Dr. Campbell knew physicians were able and willing to put in extra work to better serve their community and he reached out to Chris to propose collaborating on a walk-in clinic.

While that’s a *very* simplified account of the more than two years 😅 of effort and persistence Chris & Dr. Campbell had put in to get us to where we are today…things wouldn’t have been kick started if it weren’t for that initial outreach from Dr. Campbell!! This clinic is a perfect example of what can be achieved when healthcare practitioners collaborate together 🎉

For the first time - we are running TWO clinics in ONE day; today, Thursday September 18th, we have a morning clinic from 9-12AM and an evening clinic from 4:30-7:30. 👏🏼

A few big life moments for the team this month that are worth sharing:
✨Pharmacy Assistant Hannah K returned from maternity leave and it is so wonderful having her back! As expected Hannah has hit the ground running like she never even left! Please join us in welcoming Hannah back.

✨Pharmacist Hannah R (now Hannah H 😏) married her wonderful fiancé Lal earlier this month. Staff enjoyed celebrating the lovely newlyweds and we wish Hannah & Lal a lifetime of happiness ❤️ When you see Hannah next, be sure to congratulate her!

We are so fortunate to be able to support and celebrate the important moments in our team members’ lives 🥰
