Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.

Today I picked an oracle card to help guide my thoughts for my gentle yoga class that said:
Make space. (With the cosmos as the image)

That could mean making space between you and your thoughts… Maybe stop and think before reacting or before saying…

With the image of cosmos on the card, I chose for our centering, the idea of bringing the universe inside, to make ourselves shine within with the moon/sun/stars, to make our own power more vast. Just like the universe is vast. By doing so, we can amplify our choices and actions because sometimes they feel less grand. Every idea begins inside and each of our actions send ripple through the world…. so think before you do. Collectively we can have a great impact.

We said this mantra for peace at the end of class.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

Practice was cut short to switch rooms and I
got an impromptu Thai yoga massage…

Showing my hip issues lately and how I’m dealing with them. Any tips welcome.

I need keep up with my back bending to keep the opening that I have.

It’s about showing up and trying… not about how it looks. It’s about breathing through it, finding peace and opening with the breath.

52 begins with blessings!🙏🏼
I had another birthday… 2025 came with a boatload of struggles, seventh series… A tremendous loss, pain and waning energy with hormonal changes and yet I come out steady… Maybe in some ways stronger!
My practice informs me of my daily state…
I get to check in with me…
My strength ebbs and flows with the way I feel…
I get to test my energy, patience, stamina, mindfulness and physical limits everyday…
and learn to breathe through it… ALL!

I have many things to be grateful for:
-My Hubby/ashtangeek/rock/sunshine (in the blue to my left)
-Healthy, happy, successful kids:)
-My support system, family, friends, teachers and sangha(you know who you are🫶🏻)
-Health check🤩(I get smiley faces on my blood reports and that keeps me GOOOOOING!!!!)
-Mamo💗15 years remission🍾
-Wonderful opportunities lined up on the horizon.

Letting go of fear… building courage.
Getting used to doing my handstand, which I had just held for 10 long breaths and transformed into scorpion shape, 1 foot away from the wall… Trying it now way from the wall, in the middle of the room, then learning to fall on my feet into urdhva dhanurasana.

Thank you for the assists, pep talks and encouragement Rozel! Turning away from the wall shakes me up every time!! (Still shaking out the feeling) Slowly does it…

It took 2 days to get it!
Rozel was on a mission this week to make me do chakrasana after seeing my dismissal of it (still!) during Mysore! lol!
I’ve notice that since the last time I tried, my forward fold, core strength (compression) and my hand placement have all improved… Open the neck, fit the pieces together, and voila!

🤩 recharged from my yoga weekend Marque Garaux. Feeling so grateful for the opportunity to practice Mysore and attend workshops with at !

Ashtanga brings people together and it is so humbling! There’s a certain type of familiarity that we all share in struggling together… in seeing wins. Encouraging and acknowledging the work with each other with a nod, a wink or a smile from across the room, sharing energy and the breath during practice. Learning together how to refine our technique for our assists and our practice because we’re always searching for those aha moments. Pairing up in workshops puts each of us in assisting and trusting mode and sometimes with strangers. At the end of the weekend, we’ve all shared common struggles, food, thoughts, laughs and made more friends.
Thank you Marque, Rozel and to you all for being so warm, empathetic, fun, open and welcoming.
