Crushing. Unrelenting. Brutal. These are but a handful of the words that come to mind when listening to Long Island powerhouse SOWN IN TEARS. Formed in 2005, SOWN IN TEARS have been laying waste to listeners and venues alike across the United States with their abrasive mix of metal and hardcore. In early 2008, SOWN IN TEARS released their full-length debut, “A NEW HOPE” (recorded and produced by Tomas Constanza at Killingsworth Studios), on the unsuspecting metal community. The results have sent shockwaves throughout the metal and hardcore scene alike. This past spring, the band decided to part ways with original vocalist Peter Catalano due to personal differences. Matty Lippl, formerly of SIEGE OF AMIDA/FERRET RECORDS recording artists THE PARTISAN TURBINE stepped up to fill in the spot, bringing in a solid stance to the band‘s sound and lineup. Having honed their energetic live show to perfection by sharing the stage with international recording artists such as THE ACACIA STRAIN, WHITECHAPEL, EMMURE, SU***DE SILENCE, BURY YOUR DEAD and more, the band went on to complete a successful East-Coast tour. Upon returning, the band caught the eye of LAST RESORT RECORDS and were signed shortly thereafter. The band are currently heading back to the studio to re-master their devastating debut “A NEW HOPE”, as well as record two brand-new bonus tracks with new vocalist Matty Lippl. “A NEW HOPE” is currently available on iTunes for digital purchase, and the reissue will be available in the none-too-distant future both online and in select stores

Here Comes The Kraken is a deathcore band from Aguascalientes, México. The band was formed in 2007 by Tore (lead guitar), Alex (guitar), and Deivis (drums). They later recruited Alexa on bass.

Their debut eponymous album (Here Comes The Kraken) was released in 2009, which was accompanied with a extensive tour in Mexico and Europe. They then followed this up with an EP entitled The Omen in 2010. Both of these releases shared a similar, very heavy death metal influenced sound.

In 2011 they released their second full-length album, Hate, Greed & Death. This release featured a significantly different sound that, while still retaining elements of deathcore, overall leans towards a very nu metal sound. Reception has been extremely mixed. Here Comes the Kraken took pride in creating a nu metal album and even promoted the record before release with online banners that read "nu metal coming soon" and even sold shirts with "nu metal" displayed on them in large font. Jero was also recruited on turntables at this time.

After their appearance and performance in the Festival Vive Latino 2011 the band initiated their Hate Greed & Death tour and after a great number of shows they had to cancel the tour due to a car accident in which some of the band members were injured. They therefore could not continue playing and are still in recovery.

They reissued their debut album on 8 January 2013 through Metalitarian Records featuring two new tracks: Aguascalientes (Dead Home City) and Cruzades (21/12/12). They also announced that they are working on a third full-length due for release in 2013.

Started by Duncan Bentley and Luke Haarhoff in the beginning of 2014. Their early recordings were produced by Byron Dunwoody who later on joined the band as second guitarist.

The band takes their name from the medical condition that involves a chronic, unexplained pain in the area around the opening of the va**na.

Looking in a medical textbook will tell you the following: Vulvodynia is a chronic, severe va**nal pain with no identifiable cause. While the severe part is dead on, what a medical textbook won’t tell you is that Vulvodynia is also the name of 2014’s brightest rising star in the world of brutalizing, slamming deathcore. With lobotomizing, lurid riffs, skin-shredding blast beats and slams gruesome and filthy enough to induce septic shock, Vulvodynia are a lethal plague, spreading throughout the flesh of today’s heavy music scene—infecting one set of ears at a time, and leaving no survivors.
Spawned in 2014, Vulvodynia is a South African slam juggernaut designed with one purpose: to make the heaviest, most absurdly heavy music possible, while attempting to define themselves as more than just “another slam band.” If their mission was over-the-top heaviness, then consider it accomplished—from their debut release, Lord of Plagues, Vulvodynia’s penchant for skull-splitting technicality and eviscerating heaviness has been obvious. Rapidly gaining popularity and recognition for their prodigal slam prowess, Lord of Plagues saw the band reach ears not just in their local scene, but around the world as well. As the band’s popularity grew, their sound matured, drawing more from a greater array of influences and improving their musicianship and dynamic—until finally, in October of 2014, the band released their debut full-length album, Cognizant Castigation. Featuring Acrania’s Luke Griffin and Ingested’s Jason Evans (among many others), Cognizant Castigation is an album that cements Vulvodynia’s status as slam legends, transcending common gimmicks and staples of the genre and instead opting to generate an overwhelmingly crushing experience that fans of any style of heavy music will be able to get into. With 2014 being a whirlwind year for these young South African slaughterers, it’s practically impossible to predict the extent to which Vulvodynia’s slamming, sinister infection will spread throughout the years to come.
