Hands are exposed to environmental factors (eg. hot water, sunlight, soap, and chemicals such as hand sanitizer and detergents), which can dehydrate and thin the skin. This exposure can cause itching, irritation, eczema, cracking and sun damage.

Hand creams help restore hydration and the barriers that resist irritant effects, helping to heal cracks and prevent eczema and infection.

Some recommended hand creams are Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, Aveeno Eczema Care, and O’Keeffe Working Hands.

Just because it's chilly outside, it doesn't mean the sun is any less dangerous. In temperate climates (e.g. Canada, northern US, and Europe), sunscreen should be used when the UV index is above 2.0.
