I get many calls for itchy scalp, especially this time of year. Lice can be itchy, but not always. Dry scalp on the other hand is ALWAYS itchy. Poor lice they get blamed for everything 🥴

Archaeologists have discovered an ivory comb dating back to 1700 B.C. in the ancient Canaanite city of Lachish, making it the oldest-known complete sentence written in a Canaanite script. The comb, which was initially misidentified as a small bone, bears 17 faintly inscribed characters that were translated by epigraphist Daniel Vainstub as "May this tusk root out the lice of the hair and the beard."

This discovery provides valuable insights into the evolution of the modern alphabet, as the Canaanite writing system offered a significant improvement in user-friendliness compared to earlier pictorial scripts like cuneiform and hieroglyphics. The Canaanite script, which emerged between 1900 and 1400 B.C., served as the foundation for the development of modern Western alphabets.

The finding of a complete Canaanite sentence is considered a landmark in the study of the alphabet's evolution, offering crucial evidence for understanding the transition from earlier pictorial scripts to the more efficient and user-friendly writing systems we use today.
