During National Medical Laboratory Week (April 12-18), we are celebrating Medical Laboratory Professionals as essential partners in every patient’s journey. From the moment a sample is collected to the expert analysis and timely delivery of results, their work guides clinical decisions and supports patient care at every step. Their contributions extend far beyond what is typically seen or acknowledged, and this week gives us the opportunity to recognize the skill, dedication, and impact they bring to healthcare every day.

A kind gesture from a generous donor made it possible to offer a very special night for our young patient Sulaiman and his mom at the Canadiens de Montréal game Tuesday. 💙🤍❤️

Thanks to this generosity, they enjoyed an unforgettable experience! Sulaiman said to his mom: "This is the best day of my life.” 🤩

Over the decades, our patient and family services have continued to evolve, driven by technological advances and the growing expertise of our physicians, surgeons, and specialized teams.

We are proud to share this feature showcasing what our hospital has become in 2026: a center of excellence where innovation, compassion, and medical expertise come together to offer children the best possible care.

Across Canada, thousands of children and teens, like Chloe, train every week with intensity and determination. But even the strongest young athletes aren’t immune to injury.

That’s why our pediatric sports medicine program supports active youth at every step:
- Specialized evaluation by physicians and surgeons trained in sports-related injuries
- A multidisciplinary approach including physiotherapy, nutrition, sports psychology, nursing and social support
- Personalized treatment plans ranging from non‑surgical options to advanced surgical care
- 3D motion analysis center to guide surgical decisions, support the healthcare team by providing data‑driven analysis and recommendations to help optimize rehabilitation and inform return‑to‑sport decisions

Our mission is simple: help every young athlete regain confidence, mobility, and the joy of moving as shown through Chloé’s inspiring journey.

Since she was very young, she has approached life the same way she steps onto a tatami – a Japanese martial arts mat – with confidence, curiosity and quiet determination.

Yesterday, Holland celebrated her seventh birthday and Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. To mark this special moment, she took on a challenge of her own: a walk from her home to the park, with her family and friends walking beside her to raise funds to build an accessible playground in her community.💚

Holland's remarkable determination carried her all the way to her goal. We could not be prouder to call her one of our patient ambassadors.

Her mom, Katie, shared it best: “She had the best day! Her walk was amazing.” Noble Michael, a Shriner from Gizeh, walked beside her: “She stole my heart. Her determination was incredible… despite the pain, she did not give up. She made it to the park.”

Holland’s courage and positivity inspires us all. 💫

Canadian Orthopaedic Care Day offers a moment to celebrate, educate, and advocate for the care that keeps our country moving. Across Canada, an average of 3.73 orthopaedic surgeons per 100,000 people work every day to support the mobility, independence, and quality of life of millions. To celebrate this day, we’ve chosen to share the testimony of Amélie, the mother of our patient Anaïs, who was born with clubfeet.

To mark Child Life Month, our Child Life team hosted hands on activities highlighting how elements of their work help make the hospital experience a little brighter. ✨

Staff were invited to step into an Oasis of Calm, experiencing the sensory and calming tools our Child Life team uses every day to support patients and families. We also shared kindness through our Kindness Rocks activity — creating small reminders that compassion and care go a long way. 💛

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us highlight the important role Child Life plays in patient centred care. 🧸

We had a great time at the St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend — and even better, we got to be there alongside our community. 💚

From green hats to big smiles, our team showed up in full spirit to celebrate, connect, and share what we do every day for kids and families. Thanks to everyone who came out, cheered us on, and helped raise awareness (and funds) for pediatric care.
