⚠️ COLIC WARNING ⚠️

At this time of year we start to see a surge in grass growth, and with extended lighter days it can be very tempting to just turn our horse’s out for longer periods of time if they’ve been stabled over the winter.

❗ BE AWARE: Research has shown that nearly 50% of all colic cases had a recent change in management ❗

To ease our horses into a change routine and help reduce the risk of colic, it is beneficial to:
🌱 Restrict grazing to prevent the horse gorging on the grass – this is particularly important for those horses that have been kept stabled or on restricted turnout during the winter.
🐴 Ensure any changes are made gradually over a period of 10 - 14 days – don’t suddenly turn your horse out for long periods of time.
