For the past decade, our community has come together in the noble practice of Tara—calling on her boundless compassion, fearless wisdom, and swift activity to benefit beings. This year’s Drupchen is a special milestone, marking ten years of collective supplication and joyful practice together. Furthermore, it will be the first time that the sādhanā “The Ritual of the Five-Deity Tara and Tara Mandala,” newly compiled by His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, will be practiced in the western parts of this world. This marks another historic moment.

We hope you’ll join us—whether in person or online—for this meaningful celebration and to deepen together our qualities of courage and compassion, helping to dispel suffering in the world.

If we merely accept everything that's thrown at us, then where has our intelligence gone? We actually need intelligent doubt and skepticism; they protect us against mistaken views and propaganda.

Connecting through Meditation, Poetry, Dialogue, and Song
Over two weekends, we will connect to the innate heart of kindness that resides within each of us through meditation, poetry, art, dialogue and song. Using The Aspiration of Bodhicitta as our guide, we’ll explore the myriad of ways we can connect with others even when we feel most disconnected. Mitra Mark Power will be our guide, along with guest Karunikas and facilitators to help us bring these concepts into vivid and creative practice in each moment.

An Aspiration of Bodhicitta is a short Buddhist prayer that expresses the essence of genuine kindness. The aspiration evokes the heartfelt desire that all living beings experience supreme joy and loving kindness, that they are free from fear, and finally are freed from all suffering and confusion.
