I want to talk about ambiguous loss.

The first photo is me laughing so hard, there are tears in my eyes. My sister and I were in a drive-thru and we have no idea what was so funny but I think it was our bodies releasing stress and emotions after a hard family visit during the holidays.

I’ve shared here before that my mother has Alzheimer’s disease. It is not a disease for the faint of heart. (For all involved) It has changed her and it has changed me.

But there are many types of ambiguous losses as described on the second slide. If you can relate, you’re not alone. We don’t talk about this type of loss enough.

It is common, real and ever increasing.

The third slide gives me so much hope and solace that even with all the changes happening with my mom, and her not being who she used to be- there are so many parts of me that come from her and are alive and present. This quote by American psychologist; James Willard, was shared at a talk of Dr. Betsy Rippentrop’s that I attended and it instantly brought me to tears. How powerful, poignant and beautiful it is. And it is very true for me.

It also fills my heart when I think about my two daughters and how I am impacting their whole beings. 🥹

Lots of holiday visits, delicious meals, time on highways…taking in a few days of just being before getting back to the hustle bustle of the routine.

It’s ok to let it all digest; the family dynamics, the Siberian weather (few friends and I have been referring to it as such lol), the stress of the expectations of the holidays. Let your mind and body process and take some time to rest.

Enjoy these in between days. ✨

Isn’t the moon just stunning these days too? Have you noticed?

Cue wild child’s scream when I said ‘wild fire horse’ lol

Can’t plan these things! ☺️

Join me for this winter MBCT online group starting January 13th- take some time for you during your busy week.

These skills help to manage depression and anxiety symptoms, gain emotional regulation, connecting to your body more, being present in daily life and living more mindfully.

Join my little community- groups are usually 5-10 people max to keep it intimate and personal.

You can share as much or as little as you like, just being present is enough - if you have trouble in groups and with social anxiety, this can also help.

The feedback I receive is that the participants hope it would go longer and/or reconnect in the future.

Join a group with like-minded people.

Hope to see you there! ✨

To register- just email me at: info@nataliegoerner.com

What an honour and privilege to learn alongside these individuals and to be taught by .richards.yoga. It always amazes me how a group of people in different phases of life, with different life experiences can come together and connect so quickly. We are wired for human connection. We crave it and need it.

It was a beautiful 5 day Intensive Yin Yoga Teacher Training that I am still feeling the reverberations from.

There were amazing workshop guests; .baron teaching about the fascia and asanas and Janine Maila on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Their passion for their work is inspiring.

It is important to me to keep learning and growing in a variety of areas for my own development and interest as well as for implementing tools in my work with others to guide them in their healing journey.

I highly recommend this training, Melanie has a warm and gentle nature and her years of experience create an extremely safe environment for learning.

So grateful for this experience! 🤍

Endings can be hard and bring up all the feelings especially if you have felt abandoned in some way or another in your life.

Allow yourself the time and space to process them and to feel all the feelings that come with them.
