Split squats are a versatile exercise that can be varied to challenge the lower body in different ways. Working in this split stance can also help to improve flexibility, mobility & range of motion in the hips, knees & ankles.

1. Front foot elevated split squat.
2. Bulgarian split squat - try this alternate version where the back leg is resting in a suspension trainer to additionally challenge stability.
3. Back-loaded split squat.
