💙 Part 2 of the Holistic Bodywork Series: Anxiety
When someone arrives with anxiety in their body, the work begins long before my hands touch their skin.
Anxiety isn’t just in the mind it shows up everywhere:
• tight chest
• restricted diaphragm
• clenched jaw
• buzzing nervous system
• shallow breathing
• tension in the upper belly
• shoulders pulled up toward the ears
As a holistic bodywork specialist, my approach is always gentle, intentional, and layered:
✨ I begin by grounding the space: slowing the room, softening the lighting, inviting the nervous system to settle.
✨ I guide the breath: helping them drop from the chest into the belly.
✨ I work around the diaphragm + ribs to free the breath and give the body permission to relax.
✨ I release the jaw, neck, head, and shoulders: the places anxiety clings the hardest.
✨ I keep my pace slow and rhythmic, so their system can match the frequency of calm.
✨ I hold space emotionally: no rush, no pressure, just presence.
You can feel the moment the body lets go…
the breath deepens…
the mind softens…
and the whole system shifts from “fight or flight” into safety.
This is what holistic massage truly is
not just treatment, but regulation, connection, and remembering what calm feels like.
Your body is always communicating.
When you listen with intention, it responds.
