I don’t know who said this but I do know that it’s so very true.

More often than not we stop ourselves from trying something new or working on a wish we’d love to call a goal all in the name of fear.

Fear of what…failure, regret, discouragement, judgement and even the work involved.

There are definitely no guarantees but there are always lessons.

Lessons that will help us grow and keep us moving forward if we let them.

And, I don’t know about you, but something I learned through an error or failure is a lesson I’ll remember always.

That is a win. That is more valuable than reading a 300 page manual and forgetting most of it. That is more valuable than living with the regret of not trying. That is VALUABLE.

So, I won’t say keep failing (because it means you’re trying)… I’ll say, keep on learning!

I know I will be!

The take away is getting it done which is exactly what I did. Lower weights and wrist straps but done!

Don’t dog yourself if you need help, wrist/knee straps, preworkout for some needed energy, wtv it is… we are human and the goal is to keep challenging ourselves and that, in itself, is a very personal thing.

Just do you, boo!

…I was that 6 yr old TomBoy in a all pastel pink jumpsuit in the mid 80s….

BUT

Something I love about getting to the office, apart from actually seeing colleagues in person, is changing out of the regular and dressing myself up just a little…

This is NOT a transformation post.

It’s a “I figured out what my body needed to FEEL it’s best, dropped 7lbs in the last few months as I de-bloated naturally and finally kick started this part of my journey” post!

It’s taken me the better part of this year to pin point what this 42 yr old body of mine needed.

Mentally, it was brutal in the 1st part… the impromptu vacation I had at the end of May forced me to do those mental gymnastics I needed to do to get me to the next step.

Today…a work in progress…I’m enjoying myself wayyyy more in the process than I have in a while and reaping the benefits.

It’s hard, you know. This journey. It’s not easy and it sure isn’t a ton of fun at times but when you get to the point of feeling awesome WHILE working on yourself, you know you’re accomplishing something great.

I have an incredible bf that’s such an amazing cheerleader and partner, my active kids and close friends all keeping my mission of balanced living in check.

Grateful is an understatement!

Post workout and RIGHT before taking a series of progress pictures while the ladies section of the gym sat empty…

I haven’t taken progress pics as much as I should simply because of how slow progress has been.

Then I caught a glimpse of myself sticky and shiny from my workout (Day 1 of the newest program and I’m already loving it) and saw, with my own 2 eyes, progress… progress.

Friends, I have not been doing anything drastic and I am not on any sort of diet.

Many of you have messaged me lately to ask what I’m doing seeing me leaning out…ever so slowly but leaning out none the less…

In all transparency…

Here are the actions I’m taking:
👉🏼I usually swap certain foods depending on the time of the day (simply because how I FEEL when I do).
👉🏼Been focusing on getting enough rest.
👉🏼Trying as much as I can to manage stress better.
👉🏼Following a few simple nutrition basics (from one of the nutrition courses I work with) that focuses on an intuitive style of eating.
👉🏼Still having some wine and chips on weekends 🤪!
👉🏼Ans still enjoying carbs!

Poofff! That right there is my formula to progress.

Like I said, nothing drastic, definitely never hungry, not in diet mode and fully enjoying my summer, as I should!

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

I remember a time when I couldn’t recognize the woman staring back at me.

She wasn’t even the shell of my former self.

She avoided cameras, figure fitting clothing and wore all the clothes she hated but that fit her right.

She was last on her list of priorities which means she never got to it.

She was overwhelmed, unhappy and discouraged

Did it show? I don’t think so. But it didn’t change that it was the reality.

1 day…1 day a switch flipped. The day I was fed up of being fed up. I stopped waiting for that perfect moment or the right support and I took charge of my life, again.

Has it been easy…no.

But I can tell you this…mentally/emotionally I have never been as healthy of a mindset as I am today.

In this journey of mine, THAT has been the biggest transformation of all and although I’m nowhere near where I want to be esthetically I am taking all the pictures, living in each moment and laughing with all my heart.

Let the light beam down on you…or in my case, this failed nonchalant selfie I was trying to take without my neighbours noticing yesterday 😆.

Seriously, though. YOU decide if you look at things negatively or positively. And how you choose will dictate what you attract.

Sometimes, ppl closest to you may be sitting in the ‘dark’ side of the energy and you can’t control that.

But what you CAN control is how much you let that impact you.

So, if you’re a fellow positive vibes person, keep on shining, keep on smiling and keep that positivity going!
