Loss of control is rooted in restriction!⁠

The more you restrict yourself from a food, the more you anticipate the day when you get to eat that it. 😰⁠

You think about 💭how happy it’ll make you, 💭 how good it’ll taste, 💭 the pleasure it’ll bring… ⁠

But you also expect that food to disappear from your life the next day and anticipate how much you'll miss it.⁠

Welcome to now-or-never land: eat it now or miss it forever 🍪⁠

How about we just remove moral value from food; stop labeling it as good or bad, allowed or prohibited. Give yourself permission to eat all foods 🍕⁠

No anticipation, no overthinking, no food FOMO, just eating. Food will lose its grip on you, and you can get your power back. 🙌⁠

Food holds no power. YOU are in control. 💪⁠

Diet culture is always talking about how "you're eating too much" or "1200 calorie". ⁠
But over 50% of my clients eat LESS THAN what their bodies actually need. 🤯🤯⁠

I stand firmly and wholeheartedly with the black community ✊❤⁣

In solidarity with the BIPOC community and in response to the call of I will not be posting any of my own content from June 1 to 7. ⁣

Instead I will use my platform to share and repost from BIPOC to have their voices and stories heard.⁣

Social media can be great in times like these as we can amplify voices and messages that matter.⁣

But don't get fooled. Sharing is not enough, and 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 behind the screens and cameras. ⁣

White folks, here is how you can be an ally:⁣

1️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞.⁣
You must know and remember that you haven't walked in the shoes of BIPOC. It is not your place share your thoughts or opinions. You are privileged. If you don't get it, you are part of the problem.⁣

2️⃣ 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. ⁣
You want to be an ally? That's GREAT. But in no way is it the job of the BIPOC to teach you how to stand for values and for basic human rights. ⁣
Black history is white history. Open your books, go online. Remember your history classes where colonialism was addressed and drawn as a sign of power? Yeah, that. ⁣

3️⃣ 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐮𝐩.⁣
Now and always. What is happening today happens every single day. I challenge you to challenge anyone in your entourage or online who is being ignorant. I challenge you to unfollow accounts that are not addressing this clear problem. ⁣

Ignorance is never ok. Not when innocent black lives are being lost daily. Not when humans are being treated differently because of the colour of their skin. ⁣

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.⁣

I know your body image and self- confidence aren’t up to par, but that 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠.⁣

You know that moment where you feel like you’re always going off track? ❌ You aren’t ❌⁣

Not all tracks were meant for you. It's just about building the right one🏗.⁣

Don't force yourself into someone else's shoes‼⁣

Diet culture is ruthless. It's had you thinking that you were off-track all this time. Truth is, if you aren't able to stay on that track, hop the F off hun, because that sh*t wasn't meant for you.⁣

You and I, we love to eat. To experience flavors, and build memories around food. 🙅‍♀️ We aren't meant for the counting and shaming.⁣

Others say accept,💫 I'll say 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞.⁣

It's tough, I'll give you that. But dive deep and do the work once instead of being thrown against a wall every month.⁣

Imma let you in on a quick story.⁠
I’ve always been interested in nutrition and health, but my journey - like a fine wine- has improved with time (thank God).⁠
⁣⁠
I used to focus heavily on body composition and number-driven results. I used to define success and happiness with those numbers, and I was hella good at it. ⁣⁠
⁣⁠
Imagine a fitness tracker on legs 🧠⁠
⁣⁠
But I realized this lifestyle was literally sucking the happiness out of my life. I was being deprived of life and experiences‼️ ⁣⁠

And that's when things changes. My focus shifted DRASTICALLY 💥⁠

Of course. It' all surface work. Diets draw you into this illusion that change should be obvious and simple because they don't get to the root of the problems, they just give you a set of rules.⁠⁣⁠
