This was the dream of Arlene Kolosky and we trust it is a hope of yours as well. A hospice would support those who are unable to or do not wish to die at home.

A registered charity fundraising to create an end-of-life haven in Moose Jaw where individuals and their families are supported by a circle of compassionate care. Knowing the invaluable service and impact hospices have had elsewhere, many citizens of our district have dreamed that some day we would have such a facility right here in our own community. Hospice care helps families face life limiting

illness with dignity and comfort surrounded by a circle of support, its focus being to provide care to the dying in their location of choice. Hospice care's approach is holistic, helping those who require short term admission to bring symptoms under control in a peaceful, caring, and loving environment.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Gritzfeld's Grade 5s from St. Michael School MJ in the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division! These wonderful young folks painted cheerful rocks to scatter around the Serenity Garden in hopes of putting smiles on the residents, staff, and visitors of the Heartland Hospice wing and Pioneer Lodge. They may be some of Moose Jaw's youngest citizens, but they are already exemplifying the great community spirit this town is known for! Check their rocks out in the pictures below.

Thank you to Marcy and her team at Keon Garden Centre, our wonderful partners since 2019! Keons has been a tremendous resource in the Serenity Garden's development and generously donates items annually. 🪻🌻🌷🌼🌹🥰

Recently, the Bradford family planted a lilac tree next to the Serenity Garden gazebo in memory of their beautiful daughter, sister, and granddaughter Maren, who was looking over us as she celebrated her 9th birthday in heaven. Maren loved the beauty of lilacs. 💙

Thank you for including us and adding such a beautiful tree to the garden, which will be enjoyed by so many.

Last night, Heartland Hospice held our AGM at Grant Hall Hotel and reflected on a busy, monumental year. Over the summer, we will focus on the Serenity Garden and its expansion, the construction currently underway on the Sacred Space, and at Summer's End, our annual Heartlights Memorial. We also bid a sad farewell to Donna Ackerman, who is resigning after 6 years on the board. We will miss you, Donna, but look forward to catching up at all our future events!

Have you heard about our Giving Tree?

The Giving Tree is a specially crafted artwork created for Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw to continue funding hospice care initiatives in the community. It is a unique and lasting tribute that is displayed in the hospice wing of Pioneer Lodge.

There are three donation levels, gold, silver and bronze each having different mo
netary values. Each leaf can be personalized by engraving the name of an individual or business, or a memorial for a loved one. This project will provide ongoing funding for years to come.

The Giving Tree was designed, sculpted, and donated by Bill & Laurette Keen, 2025.

Heartland Hospice Serenity Garden is ready once again to get our garden up and looking beautiful! And this year, we are especially excited to begin our work on the section of the garden behind the hospice wing. We are looking for volunteers to join our beautification team over the summer. If you feel that you would like to help out in the garden, maintaining the flowers, watering, and maintenance of the fountain, please feel free to contact us. We do weekly shifts, but if that doesn’t work, we are always able to accommodate what you feel you can contribute. We will start around the week of May 25th.

Heartland Hospice Serenity Garden is always looking for perennials to plant. If you are thinning out any of your perennials, we would gladly give them a new home.

Our new flower beds need a bit of love. We are in need of someone to rototill our two flower beds (appox 30 feet long by 4 ft wide.) If you feel you would like to contribute to the garden and help roto till for us, we would greatly appreciate it.
