I am all over it!

I ask my patient’s all the time, why they believe what they are dealing with PCOS, endometriosis, IBS, ADHD, insert many a condition.

Why?

Because you’re committed to understanding your experience, you’re paying attention to the nuances, and well the obvious - you are with you all damn day.

I don’t have that luxury.

So it’s important to me to have you walk ME through your thought process and how you came to that conclusion.

Will I always agree?

No. 😉 But that’s why you’re sitting in my office instead of still looking online for your answers.

You are knowledgeable about your body. You truly are.

Let’s build a plan together that takes your knowledge AND my knowledge for the best possible results.

I shouldn’t be saying this.

But I’m not going to promise you healing.

I’m not going to promise you all the answers you’ve ever thought to ask.

And I’m definitely not going to promise you that I am the last practitioner or medical professional you will ever need.

(I’m here for it if I am though! 😘)

But showing up for ourselves and what we want our lives to look and feel like, shouldn’t be about promises.

It should be about the learning, the growing, the f*cking stretching that may be required.

And continuing to show up anyway, exploring new things and staying curious about the journey.

Confession:

I still struggle with the idea that being a “good” Naturopathic Doctor means doing everything perfect.

Eating perfectly.
Moving perfectly.
Living perfectly.

I need to set a good example right?

😅

But I realize……

That’s not health.
That’s just pressure.

So no -
I try to not think in “guilty pleasures” anymore.

If something brings me joy? I enjoy it.

The part that often gets missed - it’s not about throwing everything out the window when it comes to your goals.

It’s about awareness.

Knowing what supports your body.
Knowing what makes YOUR body feel good long term.
AND making choices that balance both.

Because yes -
You can eat the chocolate.
Skip the workout sometimes.
Choose ease.

And also…..

Still care about your energy.
Your hormones.
Your goals.

Health isn’t about perfection OR chaos, but finding the spaces in between for you and where you are at.

I wanna know - what “guilty pleasure” are you to stop calling a “guilty” one and just enjoy?😉

Is it me… or are people being EXTRA today? 😅

Like sir—�why are you biking directly at my vehicle… the wrong way??!

And the mid-road parking lot meeting with hazards on??�
Bold. Truly.

And then it hits me…

Oh.

Day 1 of my cycle. 😂

My capacity today?�
Lower.

My tolerance for nonsense?�
Lower.

My ability to “just let it go”?�
Also… lower.

And instead of calling that “crazy” or “too emotional”—

What if we just called it what it is?

A different phase.�A different bandwidth.�A different level of tolerance.

Not every day is meant for peak patience.�
And honestly… not everything deserves it anyway.

Because let’s be honest —it was also 100% them too.🤣

At least I didn’t yell at anyone.

Today. 😉

What if you aren’t missing anything but……

CLARITY.

Clarity on whether taking out gluten or coffee was even necessary FOR YOU.

Clarity on how much protein YOU need.

Clarity on YOUR actual goals.

Clarity on what your body is telling you it needs to be able to then do the things that will actually move the needle in how you are feeling.

Clarity is where how you feel and what you need combine.

Clarity is where working with a Naturopathic Doctor can come in really handy 😉

We not only have the knowledge to support you, but we also have the TIME to do it right.

Many of my patients are just looking for someone they can talk to. Who can help them understand what’s going on and how to navigate through it. Someone that will actually sit across from them and actually see them.

What if perimenopause isn’t just hormonal… 
What if it’s the moment you stop abandoning yourself?

We talk a lot about the symptoms.
The sleep changes. The mood shifts. The cycle changes.

But for many women, something else happens too.

A quiet realization that the way you’ve been moving through life— over-giving, pushing through exhaustion, ignoring your own needs— just isn’t sustainable anymore.

And maybe that’s not a failure.

Maybe it’s a permission slip.

Permission to stop putting yourself last. 
Permission to listen to the whispers your soul has been sending for years.

Not the “shoulds” the internet tells you.

But the ones that make you feel creative. alive. joyful.

And honestly… this reminder isn’t just for other women.

I’m 44. And some days the pressure to “not show my aging” feels loud. 
Like the internet is constantly telling us to fight every grey hair, every wrinkle, every shift in our bodies.

Which can make it surprisingly hard to just feel… good.

Good in this body. In this season. In this version of myself.

So this post? 
It’s a reminder for me too. 💋

Maybe perimenopause isn’t taking things away.

Maybe it’s the moment we stop leaving ourselves for last.

We likely all have a sense that we could benefit from stepping away from the online/social media space at times, it’s overwhelming to say the least.

And not that taking a break or dialing back how much time we spend in these spaces is a bad idea, but more of how can it also be a positive place to hang out while we are hanging out there.

Things that have created for me from the online/social media space lately:
🎆 there was a post about finding the human skeleton spooky, but what would actually be spookier would be the nervous system coming at you - this was a great visual post I thought really showing how so much of everything in the body is connected, we are not compartmentalized despite our current health models views.
🏰Old world cathedrals were actually built with nature and healing in mind, not just cool architecture. Sacred geometry, acoustic/vibrational therapy, light and color therapy. Not sure if this one is true, but makes you wonder! 🧐
♥️I read a quote about marriage not being the end of the search for love, just the end of the search for the person to love. Marriage then becomes learning all the ways in which to love that person, which never really ends, it just evolves. 💕

You’re allowed to feel.
You’re allowed to have emotions.
You’re not dramatic (well maybe I am sometimes 😉)
You’re human.

And you are allowed that full spectrum, menstrual or not. Period. (Pun intended)
