Approaching Blue Monday 💙
The third Monday of January is often called the “most difficult day of the year,” Blue Monday can bring feelings of heaviness, low motivation, and emotional fatigue. Short days, post-holiday letdowns, financial stress, and unmet expectations can all quietly add up.
If January feels harder than usual, please know this: nothing is wrong with you. Your nervous system may simply be asking for care, understanding, and support.
✨ Therapy can help by:
Providing a safe space to talk without judgment.
Helping you understand your emotions instead of fighting them.
Building coping tools that actually fit your life.
Supporting small, meaningful changes that lead to lasting growth.
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out. Therapy isn’t about being “broken” — it’s about being human and choosing support.
If Blue Monday is hitting close to home, I’m here to walk alongside you. 💙

Standing there as a grown adult but feeling like a vulnerable small child...that's what trauma can do. So when you are activated and speaking negatively about yourself, imagine you are speaking to the child you...would you speak to them that way? Tell them what they needed to hear...become who they needed at that time. ✨️

Be gentle on yourself! Shame and guilt don't help you to heal or grow!

Going back home doesn’t just bring back memories. It brings back roles, reflexes, and versions of yourself you thought you’d outgrown. Back into dynamics that shaped you long before you had language for them. This isn’t weakness, it’s memory stored in the body.

That’s why your reactions feel faster than your thoughts. Why small things feel big. Why leaving feels like relief.

The nervous system doesn’t track time the way the mind does. It responds to what the environment signals, not what you logically know. That’s why “going home” can feel like going backward, even when you haven’t.

Knowing that can help separate what’s happening now from what your body remembers. 🫀🫁🧠

Hope this helps if you need it. 🖤

✨ The Miracle Question ✨

In therapy, the Miracle Question helps clients imagine what they hope could change in their lives—and then identify one small, realistic step toward that change. Those small steps matter. Over time, they add up to meaningful transformation.

This approach is especially powerful for children. It helps them recognize what they already love about themselves and discover the strength they have to create change—one small moment at a time. 🌱
