Hey everyone!!

Some changes are happening Monday in the Clinic:

I know there is a lot of questions about masking… it just came through today that MASKING IS STILL MANDATORY IN THE CLINIC FOR BOTH PATIENT AND THERAPIST. So everyone will be asked to comply with that or reschedule until April.

I now only have to screen you once at the door when you get there, you will no longer need to fill out a prescreen before your appointment!

I’m still going to bring you in one at a time in to the clinic and proper cleaning will continue to take place.

If you are feeling unwell or have a positive case at home, I’m continuing to ask you to reschedule.

10 years…. Today I get to celebrate 10 years of being a RMT. I couldn’t have done it with out all you amazing people and your continued support!!!

We can’t celebrate this year… so stay tuned to celebrate 11 years next year!!! 🥳🍾🎉

Hey guys,

Looks like RMTs are still able to work for the time being. If anything changes I’ll let you know as soon as I do.

As always, if you or anyone in your family/household is unwell please let me know so we can get you rescheduled. This also applies if you or anyone in your home is awaiting a covid test.

I also will not be accepting any new patients at this time.

Please stay the course..... we got this. Let’s try and salvage as much as summer as we can!!!

Some important information.

An update on the status of COVID-19 cases in our region:

📊The numbers show a dramatic spike in cases with nearly 300 new cases confirmed since Thursday.
📊More classrooms were closed in one day last week than throughout the entire pandemic.
📊The 7-day moving rate of cases in school-aged children has quadrupled over a two-week period (from 25.1 to 97.5 per 100k).
📊The percent positivity in school-aged children has increased to about 3 times what it was one week ago.
📊In that same period, the effective reproductive number (expected number of cases for each positive case) jumped from 1.08 to 1.37. This is the highest it has been since Nov. 16, 2020. An effective reproductive number below 1 is needed to reduce cases in the community.
📊The rate of these changes has been more rapid than what was seen in Wave 2.

Hey guys... as most of you are aware of now, I’ve been off since Feb.3 with a back Injury...I’ve (finally) been given a green light to slowly make my triumphant return. I’ve been told to take this slow and steady. And I’m going to respect what my amazing team has recommended and do so, so that I don’t wind up in this position again.

I’m bringing people back slow and certain treatments I’m just not able to do yet.... but I’m on the straight and narrow. Some appointments might be affected, some days might change as I need some rest days. So please be patient with me.... I understand that with the lockdown some of you have been waiting for awhile to get in to see me.... I promise ASAP you will be back on the table.

If things are bad, don’t hesitate to reach out and I will do what I can.

Huge thank you for all your patience, check in texts and thoughtful gifts that you sent me.... you guys are all awesome!!!!

I will be in touch ASAP! And remember when someone tells you exercise is good for you, you laugh at them, put the dorito in your mouth and walk away!! 😜

I am lucky that Massage Therapy is still considered essential in Ontario. I will still be open and operating at a essential/acute/emergency appointment based practise until at least Feb. 11. This will effect some appointments, but I will be in contact with those patients and you will hear from me over the next couple days.

Hello Amazing Patients of Hewson Massage Clinic,

As most of you are aware of now, Ontario will be heading in to another Lockdown starting Dec.26/2020.

Registered Massage Therapists are Regulated Healthcare Practitioners in Ontario and are therefore are currently allowed to remain open.

As per the CMTO “RMTs should only be providing in-person treatment when the anticipated benefits of treatment outweigh the risk to the client and the RMT.” This does mean that during this shutdown period I will only be seeing patients that I determine massage therapy is essential for their well being. I don’t take this decision lightly as I know a lot of you rely on massage therapy. I will be in contact with you if I feel we need to reschedule. Please do not be offended if I ask you to delay your appointment until February. I have certain criteria that needs to be met and hope my decisions are respected during this time, no exceptions.

During this time I can assure you that I am doing everything in the clinic to ensure your safety. This includes:
Prescreening for Covid via email prior to your appointment and again once you arrive
Remaining in your vehicle until I come out to get you
Temperature checks prior to entrance in the clinic
The use of government approved disinfectant to clean ALL surfaces after each client in the treatment room, bathroom and reception area.
Continuation of wearing masks for both client and myself during the entire treatment. You are unable to remove your mask for any reason for the duration of your visit. I have also implemented eye protection as well.
You will be asked to wash your hands prior to treatment and once you exit in to the garage.

I am asking that if you or anyone in your home is unwell, currently awaiting results for a COVID 19 Test, been contacted by Public Health to be tested or have been told to self isolate in the last 14 days to please notify me and we can reschedule.

If you have any questions about any of my safety methods please never hesitate to ask me. I am always happy to answer those. You all have been in the clinic and I hope you understand that I would never put your safety at risk. I always appreciate your co-operation.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2021. Hopefully it is brighter, happier and more relaxing for each of you. Thank you for continuing to stick by me through all of this.

Red.... should be a festive colour this time of year but now it’s unfortunately the colour we are in for our Covid level.

Nothing majorly changes in the clinic, however if I think you are a higher risk patient then I’ll be in contact with you to discuss our next steps. All safety procedures are already being followed and then some in the clinic. So it’s business as usual, you will however get to see me in some new eye wear. Massage therapy seems to have the green light even if we go in to lockdown but we can cross that bridge hopefully never.

I am working off a cancellation list and it is moving so if you’d like me to put you on it please let me know.

As always if your feeling unwell, been contacted by public health or someone in your home is unwell or covid positive please contact me.... I’m trying my hardest to keep this space as safe as possible. And I honestly am so thankful you all have been so honest and forthcoming so far.... it keeps myself, my family and my patients safe.... I’m so happy you guys are all mine.

If you have any questions whatsoever regarding my safety procedures, safety guidelines or simply want me to share my favourite Christmas cookie recipe(anything with peanut butter) I’m always here to help.

As most of you know, there seems to be an spike in cases in our little community... I understand everyone is on edge and concerned including myself... this is the town my parents live in, this is the town I grew up in and this is a town that is home to a lot of people I care deeply about. It is breaking my heart to hear of all the cases with our friends and neighbours and I’m wishing them a speedy recovery.

I wanted to just remind everyone that if you are feeling unwell or are awaiting testing because you are unwell please reschedule your appointment. I am also asking if someone in your home is currently being tested, asked to self isolate by public health or feeling unwell to also reschedule. If you or anyone in your direct circle (including family or close work colleagues) has tested positive please contact me to determine next steps.... this keeps the clinic as low risk as possible.

Please remember complete the pre covid screen that appears in your email 2 days prior to treatment. I need this info to hand over to public health in the event of an outbreak. If you do not have it completed, I will remind you prior to arrival.

Please understand that I am taking EVERY precaution that I possibly can and have been since I started back in June. The clinic is entirely sanitized and cleaned prior to your arrival. Your safety and well being has always been my number one concern.

I understand things are scary, but we’ve got this... wash your hands, wear your mask and maintain social distancing and hopefully we can get our numbers down.

If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to ask and if you are in doubt please message or text me prior to treatment to determine our game plan.
