Home🙏🏼
First real workout in a week and damn I missed this place and my routine!
The holidays can be magical and fun but in reality for most of us, being out of our norm can be exhausting.
Meal timing off
Lack of access to gyms to train
Operating on other people’s schedules
Not having the same time for your needs
I used to feel so defeated through the rush of everything, as if I lost so much progress by taking a step back for a 1 week period at the end of the year.
But now I view it as an appropriate time to take a deload week from the gym, and to eat a bit more intuitively temporarily. Key word TEMPORARILY.
Knowing a quick break can sometimes allow for a much greater run way for being dialled in.
The cortisol spike you cause by the stress you put on yourself for not having a “perfect” week is actually more catastrophic than the family dinner and Christmas cookie you ate.
So don’t stress about it, use it for some crazy pumps🤘
Having said that, this is not a time to say f**k it on your goals moving into the next week. Now is the time to reestablish your systems that work for you and allow for you to even expand on this with this new room for growth.
This is a time to allow yourself a little bit of grace but also remind yourself how amazing you feel when you are fueling your body with clean whole foods and prioritizing your training progression.
The only real quit is having the all or nothing mentality.
When 100% is there, take it. But don’t expect to be able to output that continuously.
You’re human, balance is key🫶
