Vitamin D ... What is it and why is it so important? 🤔
Vitamin D is a nutrient that helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus, minerals important for building and maintaining strong and healthy bones 🦴
The best source of vitamin D is through sunlight ☀️
However, deficiency is commonly seen in these darker seasons, when all we want is to be snuggled up inside, instead of standing out in the cold 🥶
So how can we get our daily dose of vitamin D?
It is found naturally found in a number of foods including
🐟fatty fish (salmon, tuna)
🥩beef
🍳egg yolks
🥛fortified milk
Supplements are a great option as well! (but please talk to a health professional before adding another supplement to your regimen)
